Dear parents & students,
With Fall approaching, we are about to begin a season full of very exciting festivities!
In the spirit of giving thanks, we would like to extend a warm thank you to our students, parents, and staff for joining us for another school year! There is a lot to look forward to!
For example! In October we will be holding our annual school-wide 21 day practice challenge! All successful participating students who practice everyday for the first 21 days of October will receive a very special prize! The fun continues with our Halloween costume week taking place October 25th-31st! Bring your Halloween spirit!
Several festivals and competitions are coming up!
On October 30th we will be hosting our first October Spooky Music festivals for older students to show their progress and spooky tunes! Also coming up are the Unionville Music Competition and the Royal Music Conservatory's Music Lights the Way Piano Festival!
We also have several exciting offerings beyond our individual piano and group keyboard classes! Scroll to learn more!

This Halloween we will share the joy of music!
We will be hosting our first October Spooky Music Festival!
This mid-semester recital offers our older individual and JAC/JSAC students an extra opportunity to perform :-)
Anyone who would like to come out to view the concert as a guest is very much welcome!

Unionville Music Competition (UMC) 2022 |

The Unionville Music Competition (UMC) returns this year!
Young talents are welcome to enter into various competition categories which vary by age and whether entering as RCM or non-RCM curriculum participants.
Registration is currently OPEN!
The registration & payment deadline is November 7th.
We encourage all interested students to let their teachers know and to find out more about the competition from the UMC site!

As you may know, a local art educator, Ms Natalia, is looking to host art classes at our school! Thank you to everyone who has come out to her recent workshops, we are happy to announce that she will be hosting more~

RCM "Music Lights the Way" Piano Festival |

|
Individual piano students studying the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) curriculum can submit a video of their own performance of a favourite repertoire piece from their current level of the RCM sixth edition books for a chance to win one of 124 prizes valued over $150,000 total! The festival is now open for submissions until December 1st and free to enter! Interested RCM students should speak to their teachers and see the website linked below for more details. All RCM prepatory and repertoire levels are welcome.
There are prizes to be awarded both in judged categories AND a participation draw so we highly encourage all RCM students to enter by December 1st! |

Choir Program with Ms. Alondra |

Calling all songbirds! Let's bring our choir class back!
As you may know, we are looking to run our choir class again this year on
Saturdays @3:45 PM with Ms. Alondra
for approx 50 minutes. Runs from October through June
Over the course of the program, choir students learn how to use their voice in a healthy manner, proper singing techniques, ensemble singing, singing in pitch, and much more!

We are happy to announce that we are continuing the Jazz classes for graduates of JAC3 & up, Pianoforte book 10+, and RCM grade 6 & up who would like to work on their Jazz skills!
Jazz Group classes and lessons run on Sundays with Mr. Alex
This program will ensure students are prepared to both write music and perform as a Jazz band. Interested students are encouraged to speak with their homeroom teachers and email us.

Composition Masterclass: One on one with Ms. Alondra |

Our composition masterclass lessons return this September! Students in the JAC/JSAC levels are welcome to take these online one on one lessons to expand on their knowledge of music composition and refine their own pieces with Ms. Alondra's help!
Lessons will be available online-only on Wednesdays with Ms. Alondra.
Student's compositions will be featured in Junior Original Composition
activities including the JOC concert!

Practice Coach Packages Update |

Practice coach sessions will continue to be available from September through June for Yamaha students looking to get extra help through one on one lessons. Though we have two updates regarding availability and pricing:
First, we will no longer be offering practice coach sessions in packages of 5 or 10. Instead, you will be able to purchase as many or as few as you need at the per session rate.
Second, starting in 2023, practice coach sessions will no longer be offered outside of the academic year from September through June.
