| | The American Academy of Private Physicians has been on roller skates
these past few months. Perhaps a better metaphor would be those skiers
that fly off the "runway" doing flips and and all kinds of fancy things... landing miraculously on their feet with a smile on their face, exhausted but exhilarated!
America's healthcare
delivery system is changing by the day. There is legislation on the
books and regulations on the way. There are court cases on the docket
and CMS and Congress can't decide what they want to do. BUT...private physicians are moving along doing what we do best and taking care
of patients, professionals all the way. It is clear that the
decision to work for our patients is the only way to continue on the
road to professional autonomy and quality patient care.
AAPP
has recently joined with cardiovascular
disease prevention pioneers Bale and Doneen to advance our
opportunity to provide the most advanced preventive care in the nation.
We are on a mission to prevent heart attacks and strokes. Many of our
members took the Bale/Doneen course in heart attack and stroke
prevention and walked away invigorated and excited to get back to our
offices to start saving lives. We are
co-hosting the Bale and Doneen reunion at the Cleveland Clinic in
August. They are working with the Cleveland Clinic to provide the
absolute most up to date laboratory analysis of a patient's vascular
condition. AAPP members get a discount on the course and I have to say I
can think of no better way to invest your money. This was an
incredible investment in my own life and in my patients' lives. Please
take the time to have
a look and sign up for the course yourself! The next certification
program is in September.
We are on
our way to Kiawah Island, SC for an incredible
conference on June 26, 2010. The agenda is full of great
discussions about getting started in private medicine, the marketing of
our practices, new IT opportunities, and a wonderful chance to network
with your colleagues from all over the country. Space is limited, so
please register TODAY.
Take the time to look at the AAPP
website. There is more news than I can incorporate into this small
space. Also, contact us if you have a moment... let us know what we can do to help you. |
MEMBER BENEFITS IN ACTION | |
AAPP is proud to
highlight Technology Leasing Concepts - its preferred Leasing Partner. AAPP member Dr. Gary Blume, of Bothell,
Washington, recently worked with TLC and a host of other AAPP sponsors, including
FotoFinder and SonoSite, to equip his practice with the most current,
high-level screening technologies available today.
Said Gary, “AAPP has been crucial to us
finding these innovative and important medical technologies, and finding
a
company through which we can lease them at very reasonable fees... also important is the wealth of good ideas and practical knowledge
that
comes from being part of AAPP. Anyone who is going into or who currently practices private medicine and is not part of AAPP would be wise to
join."
Technology Leasing Concepts provides a personalized approach
to help AAPP members obtain the latest and greatest technologies as easily,
efficiently, and economically as possible.
A wide variety of products and systems are available to best meet your
needs, whether you are just starting a practice or are committed to keeping
your existing practice cutting-edge. TLC
is able to offer competitive pricing and one line of credit for multiple
products, and often does not require a down payment. Leased assets can be managed on their
website, www.tlc96.com, and specialized
reports and invoicing are also available.
TLC is ready to provide you with the high-level experience and care that you, in turn, provide for your

corner! Each meeting has seen
approximately 100 attendees, with numbers continuing to grow, just as the
meetings themselves get better and better.
The goal of these conferences is to assist individuals seeking to understand
what it takes to launch and grow a private practice. To this end, AAPP recruits a variety of
professionals to discuss different private practice models, as well as to
address areas of concern ranging from business problems and branding to
physician-specific issues such as health insurance and medical equipment. Doctors in established practices and others who are planning their transition to private medicine all leave these meetings having received great value.

| | Member Testimonials "First of all, we loved the enthusiasm by everyone at AAPP, especially Marcy and Tom and you of course. It is refreshing to be around people with that kind of passion who want to practice medicine the right way. The whole morning panel of physicians really was great and we appreciated their excitement for putting patients first.
Everyone was very friendly as well. In a nutshell you guys created a great environment. We also liked the fact that the different vendors were present. It showed that the organization is more than just social networking but also truly is concerned with aiding physicians in managing a successful direct-pay practice. We were able to see that the AAPP will truly be able to help us maneuver around the difficulties of starting a new practice."
