Dear Friends and Supporters,
All around the world, we are seeing sweltering heat waves affecting not only communities but whole countries around the world. As some of the hottest months of the year come around in some corners of the world, it has a significant impact on society.
The heatwaves and hottest days on record bring endless concerns burdening health systems and causing strains on water, energy and transportation services (WHO). As shared by United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres, for the planet as a whole, it is more than a cruel summer; it is a disaster.
However, we still have a chance to turn this around. A chance to save our planet. A chance to make our cities and livable spaces greener and healthier. This is why our time for action is now. We believe that safe, equitable and sustainable mobility for all is the way forward. Social and environmental responsibility is one of our core values, leading our efforts to #RethinkMobility and contribute to a greener world.
We know that we cannot win this battle on our own. We have been working to promote safe, equitable, and sustainable mobility in Songkhla province, Thailand, for nine years with the
Chevron Street Wise program. After nine years of successful collaboration, we are delighted to be appointed to the Sub-Committee on Road Safety for Children and Youth in Songkhla Province of Thailand. Together, we will take the lead for Songkhla Province to be a national leader for healthy, green, and safe mobility.
With the Sustainable Development Goals Summit coming up in September and the Global Forum for Adolescents in October, we are joining the global movement and speaking up for greener, healthier, and more equitable mobility for all.
Join us, and please read on.
Sincerely,
Mirjam Sidik
