Dear Subscriber
For many of you, the spring semester has come to a close and summer break is kicking into full gear. Before you wrap up your chapter for the summer, be sure to take a look at the article about summer chapter communications. It's important to stay in contact with your chapter brothers during the summer so the long break doesn't create distance amongst the chapter, thereby creating a lackluster start to the fall semester.
Also, remember to report graduating seniors by June 1 on www.apo.org.
Have a great summer and be safe! See you in August!

May Video of the Month: Eta Phi Chapter at American University in Washington D.C.
|
|
The brothers of Eta Phi Chapter at American University in Washington D.C., produced a funny and educational rap of all facts their pledges must know about APO for their pledge exam. Great job Eta Phi Chapter!
Is your chapter working
hard to create fun, informational and educational videos for recruitment,
etc.? Share your efforts with brothers across the nation by nominating
your video for the August Video of the Month. Simply post your video to
YouTube, then send a link to the Torch Topics Editorial Staff at publications@apo.org.

Keep Up APO Chit Chat During Summer
| |
Summer brings with it exciting vacations, jobs and
internships, and sometimes even more classes. Unfortunately, it typically
doesn’t bring Alpha Phi Omega meetings or service events or fellowship
activities as most brothers find themselves away from campus. Click here for advice on how to keep up the chit chat amongst your chapter during a busy summer break.

FAR Grant Applications Due June 1!
| |
The
application for the 2011 Friendship and Retention Grant is now available. This
grant gives chapters money for fellowship events that strengthen the bonds of
brotherhood. This event will bring chapter members closer. Inviting alumni and
inactive brothers to participate also allows brothers to reconnect with old
friends. Click here for more information. |
