Dear Subscriber

First of all, we'd like to welcome all the new brothers to Alpha Phi Omega!

Our chapters are doing a fantastic job recruiting this semester. If you want to share your chapter's recruitment numbers with your fellow APO chapters, feel free to post them on the Fraternity's Facebook Page. More than 30 chapters have already shared their recruitment stats for the year! Click the Facebook button below to visit the Fraternity's page.

In other news, can you believe National Service Week is only 41 days away and less than 91 days before the 41st Biennial National Convention in Atlanta? It's going to be a busy fall semester; however, with a little planning your chapter will be prepared for both! This issue of Torch Topics will put everything you need for both right in front of you. If you have any other questions, feel free to contact the National Office. Office hours and contact information are available at the bottom of this e-newsletter.

See you in Atlanta, brothers!

The FIVE Step Model of Recruitment

Recruiting new members to the Fraternity is a vital function of APO chapters; however, not all members are as comfortable as others with meeting and talking to people they don't know on campus. The key to having successful recruitment is to understand that the process of meeting people, making them your friends, connecting them with brothers, introducing them to the organization and inviting them to join is continuous and necessary.

The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is challenging college campuses nationwide to help raise funds and awareness for cystic fibrosis (CF) while competing in an afternoon kickball tournament.

Kick CF - Colleges Curing Cystic Fibrosis is a single-elimination, charity kickball tournament benefiting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

There are many ways to participate in Kick CF.  Whether you publicize the event, organize teams on your campus or raise awareness, Kick CF is a fun, easy way to support the fight against CF, a life threatening genetic disease that impacts the lungs and digestive system.

Interested in learning more?  Go to our website www.cff.org/kickcf , email kickcf@cff.org, or call Jessica Knutzon at (800) FIGHT CF, x662.
