Dear AmpleHarvest.org Supporter,

AmpleHarvest.org founder Gary Oppenheimer recently learned that he was chosen by Arianna Huffington as one of the Huffington Post Game Changers for 2011.  While this is quite an honor, the real excitement comes from knowing that the AmpleHarvest.org Campaign will gain additional exposure leading to more pantries receiving donations of fresh healthy produce.  Tonight Gary is attending the Game Changers event in NYC, spreading the word about how backyard gardeners can help fight hunger in their own communities by sharing their excess bounty with their neighbors in need.

Arianna Huffington's message read, in part:

"I’m delighted to let you know that we have chosen Gary Oppenheimer as a Huffington Post 2011 Game Changer -- one of the 100 innovators, leaders and artists who are changing the way we look at the world and the way we live in it. (We) would like to honor Gary for his pioneering work to raise awareness about hunger and his groundbreaking, community-based approach towards alleviating it.

Last year, we honored Sean Penn; attorney Ted Olson, who successfully fought against the anti-gay marriage law in California; Newark Mayor Cory Booker; Geoffrey Canada of the Harlem Children’s Zone; Twitter co-founder Biz Stone and wife Livia; and more. Presenters included Mayor Michael Bloomberg; Nora Ephron; Anderson Cooper; Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski; former head of the NAACP Julian Bond; Jann Wenner; and more. This year we expect an equally inspiring and diverse group of honorees and presenters. We very much hope Gary can join us. All the best, Arianna”

With that, Gary Oppenheimer, founder and executive director of AmpleHarvest.org, learned that he was joining an impressive list of “Game Changers” including Dr. Oz, Jamie Oliver, Kristen Wiig, Scott Ruden and Andrew Cuomo.

We hope you'll take a moment to visit www.AmpleHarvest.org/gamechanger to read about Gary and the AmpleHarvest.org Campaign as well as some other Game Changers who are doing some pretty amazing things.  It is with your support that Gary can continue his tireless work on behalf of the hungry in America, helping gardeners find local pantries and helping pantries get the word out, all while having a positive impact on the environment.  Thank you for helping us spread the "No Food Left Behind" message.  Together we are making a difference.

Best Wishes,

AmpleHarvest.org
