Dear Friends,
So much is happening--all of it positive, serendipitous and wonderful. Last week I returned from Colombia, from what was a deeply creative and inspiring experience that gave birth to our new 2010 collection, reunited old friends and forged new partnerships. Tonight, we celebrate at the Corcoran, Calamarie's nomination by the Fashion Group International as a Rising Star in Eco Fashion. This morning I received a photo that filled me with gratefulness and joy and I wanted to share it with all of you--who have made all of this possible-- right away.
 One of my partners in Colombia, Inten, runs a wonderful foundation for the indigenous children of Paluato, Colombia--Mi Casa en Ipauratu. 10% of all sales from items hand made by Inten and sold by Calamarie support the foundation's children. Your purchases made possible the purchase of school uniforms (for the first time!) for these wonderful kids. Aren't they adorable?
So thank you all for shopping for what you LOVE and makes you feel FABULOUS -but doing so with a conscience- for helping preserve traditions, for providing artisans an opportunity to continue their craft and for respecting our earth while you are at it.
