Important Update for Libyan Students in Canada

June 14th, 2013

Dear Students,

We would like to inform you of the changes in processing “freeze/on-hold” requests of your scholarship period.

Effective July 1, 2013, students wishing to “freeze” (suspend) their scholarships for a period from 1 to 12 months may do so by filling out a Freeze Request form and by submitting it to their Academic Manager, who has the authority to approve the request.   The number of months used during a freeze period may be used at a later time during a student’s scholarship.

The request should ideally be submitted one month before the start date of the freeze period, or no later than the 15th of the month prior to putting a scholarship on hold.

While on a freeze, a student is not eligible for any scholarship benefits including allowance payments, health insurance, tuition and fees, and dependent allowances or benefits.  Approved freeze periods will be reported to the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to make sure that the dates in the Ministry’s records are aligned with those at CBIE.

Sincerely,

The Libyan-North American Scholarship Program
