Important Update to Libyan Students in North America 
Delay in Processing the July MLA

Dear Libyan Students in North America,

This message is in follow-up to our message sent on June 18^th 2013,  concerning a potential delay in processing the Monthly Living Allowance (MLA) for the month of July 2013. CBIE regrets to inform you that, due to a delay in transferring the third quarter budget (July-September) to CBIE’s account, the MLA for July will not be processed on schedule.

CBIE is in daily communication with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (the Ministry) and is doing everything possible to expedite the release of the third quarter funds.

As well, we continue to communicate the significant implications of this delay to senior officials in the Ministry and other stakeholders, such as Libyan embassies in the United States and Canada. We sincerely hope to be able to move forward soon with the issuance of July MLA and will be in a position to do so immediately upon receipt of the third quarter budget.

In regards to health insurance, we would like to confirm that the coverage for eligible students will remain in effect through July, 2013.
