Important Update to Libyan Students in North America 
Delay in Processing the July MLA

July 5^th, 2013

Dear Libyan Students in North America,

This message is a follow-up to our last correspondence sent to you on June 26^th, 2013  regarding funding for the third quarter (July – September). CBIE has received from the Ministry an ‘unofficial list’ for the third quarter, and we are in the process of verifying the names against CBIE’s records.

We are expecting to receive the official list along with the allocated funds shortly, and will inform you accordingly. In the meantime, please note that Academic Managers are not in a position to inform students if their name is or is not on the list, as it is still being translated and reviewed.

CBIE continues to communicate with the Ministry to expedite the process to ensure that the July MLA is deposited to your accounts as soon as possible.

Finally, CBIE would like to take this opportunity to remind students that in order to receive scholarship benefits, a valid decree must be on-file and the student’s name must appear on the Quarter 3 MLA list.

In cases where a decree has been issued but the student’s name does not appear on the Ministry’s Quarter 3 list, CBIE must await confirmation from the Ministry that funds have been transferred before benefits can resume.
