Important Update regarding the Transfer of the
2014/2015 Tuition Budget

June 10th, 2015

Dear Institutional Partners in North America,

CBIE is very happy to inform you that we have received confirmation from the Central Bank of Libya that the 2014/2015 tuition budget for students in Canada and the U.S. has been transferred and is expected to be received in CBIE’s account in 2-3 business days.

In anticipation of the imminent receipt of funds, we have begun preparing payments to institutions, starting with tuition invoices owed from Fall 2014, followed by Winter and Spring 2015 invoices.

(Note: At the end of next week, we will send an update regarding whether or not Summer 2015 Letters for Registration can be issued. As well, it is important to clarify that the 2014/2015 tuition budget does not include funds for Fall 2015.)

Considering the delay the Program has experienced this past year, we are committed to dedicating all possible resources to expedite payments; however, due to the large number of invoices, please understand it will take some time to finalize all payments.

We want to take this opportunity to thank you all again for your ongoing patience, understanding, and support this past year. Please be assured that we will continue to update you throughout the summer regarding the Program’s transition to a new Administrator, effective October 1, 2015.

In closing, we would also like to thank our partners in Libya, including the Libyan Audit Bureau, the Libyan Central Bank, the Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Higher Education, as well as the Canadian Embassy to Libya, and the Libyan Embassy in Canada.

Sincerely,
The Libyan-North American Scholarship Program
