― I-70 Mountain Corridor Advisory for Commercial Motor Vehicle Carriers ―
Rockfall blasting to close I-70 near Idaho Springs 9 a.m. to noon on Dec. 18
Truckers are urged to avoid travel during those times
CLEAR CREEK COUNTY ― The Colorado Department of Transportation plans rockfall blasting that will close I-70 in both directions near Idaho Springs between the Dumont/Downieville (Exit 234) and Beaver Brook/Floyd Hill (Exit 248) from 9 a.m. to noon on Dec. 18.
Commercial motor vehicles traveling westbound on I-70 will be turned around at the Beaver Brook/Floyd Hill Exit 248. CDOT encourages CMVs to use chain stations at Buffalo, Morrison Denver west or locations further east as places to stage and wait until the highway is reopened.
All eastbound traffic will be turned around on I-70 at the Dumont/Downieville (Exit 234) beginning at 9 a.m.

Southbound I-25 Chain-Up Station at Spruce Mountain Road
There is a new chain-up station along southbound I-25 near Larkspur that will be open during winter storms.
If you're driving southbound from the Castle Rock area, take the Spruce Mountain Road exit (173). Look for message boards along the I-25 South Gap project for extra guidance. Drive safely!
