Greeley truck company owner works to secure trucking jobs amid statewide call to curtail traffic

Two years ago, Rod Steely's trucking operation in Greeley was running at full speed.

Steely, owner of Colorado Crude Carriers, was running about 42 trucks and about 44 trailers. Last February, he had to lay off 13 drivers and sell several trucks. Now, he can only run 21 trucks — and 10 are parked.

"I'm an optimist," Steely said. "I keep telling everyone I'm feeling good that things are going to come back this year."

5th Annual Colorado TopTech Skills Competition
April 22, 2017 at Lincoln Tech
The TopTech skills competition is open to all member and non-member technicians.  Please encourage your technicians to participate.   The overall winner in both the Professional and Student competitions will be eligible to participate in the National SuperTech Skills Competition in Orlando, Florida.  Entry fee is $50 per contestant.

**Note - Changes for 2017**
  • One of the biggest is the deferral for tattoo. You can now donate if you have received a tattoo. You no longer have to wait 12 months. As long as it was done in one of the approved states and Colorado is approved. 
  • You can also donate if you weigh 110 lbs. You no longer have to weigh 115 lbs.
