International Roadcheck Set for June 4-6 With Emphasis on Steering and Suspension
Greenbelt, Maryland (March 25, 2019) – The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance's (CVSA) International Roadcheck will take place June 4-6. Over that 72-hour period, commercial motor vehicle inspectors in jurisdictions throughout North America will conduct inspections on commercial motor vehicles and drivers.
Each year, International Roadcheck places special emphasis on a category of violations. This year's focus is steering and suspension systems. While checking vehicle compliance is always part of the North American Standard Inspection Program, CVSA is highlighting steering components and suspension systems this year as a reminder of their importance to highway safety.

Celebration of Life for Allan Turner
Allan had been with the State Patrol for many years and is the former Captain of HazMat. He is a longtime friend of industry and worked at the Roadeo for many years. He provided training and technical expertise to many of our members and worked closely with CMCA on the development of the hazardous material routing network, regulations, and rules for these operations.
The Turner family will be hosting a Celebration of Life and a reception in honor of Allan M Turner on Saturday, June 29th, at 12:00 noon. It will be held at Horan & McConaty, located at 1091 S. Colorado Boulevard (Colo. Blvd. @ Mississippi Ave.).

U.S. 50 project requires closures between Montrose, Gunnison
Tentative plan for daily open travel times
Montrose-Gunnison — Roadway improvements on U.S. 50 through the Little Blue Creek Canyon (30 miles east of Montrose between mile points 123 and 127) are scheduled to begin in the spring of 2020.
This work will require closures of U.S. 50, however, access will be provided on a daily basis. Based on feedback from the traveling public, local elected officials and businesses, and the Colorado Motor Carriers Association, project access will be provided every weekday morning, midday, and evening during the first year of construction (April 2020 to April 2021) and fully open on the weekends to twoway traffic starting 5:30 p.m. Friday until 8:30 a.m. Monday. These weekday openings will be reduced to a single lane of travel, so drivers should allow extra time while pilot cars lead vehicles one direction at a time.
