FMCSA COVID-19 Pre-Employment Drug Testing Waiver

Click the link below to find the COVID-19 waiver posted Friday which grants a three-month waiver from certain pre-employment testing requirements applicable to employers of commercial motor vehicle drivers.  CMV drivers outside a random drug testing pool for more than 30 days ordinarily must repeat pre-employment drug testing when they come back to work.  This waiver extends that period from 30 days to 90 day.  Employers will still be required to query FMCSA’s Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse for returning drivers, which will enable them to identify drivers who are ineligible to perform safety-sensitive functions.
