International Roadcheck Starts Today, May 17

Remember, International Roadcheck starts tomorrow, May 17, and lasts until Thursday, May 19. International Roadcheck is a 72-hour high-visibility, high-volume commercial motor vehicle inspection and enforcement initiative. Each year, CVSA focuses on a specific aspect of a roadside inspection. This year, the focus will be on wheel ends. To help drivers and motor carriers prepare for International Roadcheck, CVSA created a downloadable informational flyer on wheel ends.

CDOT values the opinions of the truck driving community. Please help to influence the Emergency Escape/Runaway Truck Ramps on our mountain highways to enhance the safety of all road users that travel on Colorado's steep mountain grades.

Declaration of this emergency provides relief from Title 49, CFR, Part 395 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations for motor carriers in New Mexico providing direct assistance for combating and surprising the fires in the state of New Mexico. Download Official Memo.

Ray Smith Scholarship Applications

Eligible recipients include High School graduating seniors to returning College and Technical School students. Scholarships valued at up to $2,500 will be awarded in May.

The deadline to nominate a commercial truck or motorcoach driver for the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance's (CVSA) International Driver Excellence Award (IDEA) is coming up, next Friday, May 20.

CVSA's International Driver Excellence Award recognizes an extraordinary professional commercial motor vehicle driver and their commitment to public safety. The award recipient (and a guest) will receive roundtrip airfare to Rapid City, South Dakota, along with a two-night stay at the conference hotel, to attend the CVSA Annual Conference and Exhibition where the winner will be acknowledged at the awards luncheon and awarded a check for $2,500 and a crystal trophy.
