Kudos to Southern Tire Mart

A huge thank you to Southern Tire Mart for once again donating tires to Project CURE!  Last month CMCA received a request from Project CURE for assistance in procuring discounted / free tires for one of their delivery trucks.  Southern Tire Mart agreed to donate new front tires and got the truck up and running again, picking up much-needed donations from around the state.

Project CURE and CMCA appreciates your support and generosity!

US 50 Monarch Truck Ramp Repair Update 11/18/22 :

  • The Colorado Department of Transportation in partnership with Bechtolt Engineering and Williams Construction has extended the project completion dates of a US Highway 50 emergency truck ramp located at MP 204, approximately 4 miles east of Monarch Pass summit. The runaway truck ramp will not be operational until all the repairs are completed.
  • The construction has been delayed due to inclement weather on the mountain pass that interrupted construction operations.
  • Construction crews are scheduled to place the overhead utility poles, signs, and guardrails the week of November 21. ( weather dependent)
  • The project completion is now scheduled for the first part of December 2022 depending on weather conditions.
  • Once completed, the permanent repairs will prolong the life of the truck ramp and improve safety for the trucking community along this mountain corridor.
  • Check for the most current closure and road condition updates.

Company Retirement Plans Required 1/1/2023

CMCA is reminding our members of an upcoming state mandate related to Colorado business owners.

Colorado businesses are required to offer the retirement plan to their employees if they:

  • Have been in business for two or more years
  • Have five or more employees
  • Do not already offer a retirement savings plan for employees

All Colorado business owners will need to register when the program launches in early 2023. If you don’t meet those requirements, you can file an exemption when you register. If you meet that criteria, you will need to enroll in the program in order to allow your employees to participate in the retirement savings program. Failure to register is expected to bring penalties from the state. You can register here:  For more information, please see

Please note, CMCA has partnered with TAG Resources & Ameriprise Financial to provide a 401k retirement savings program for our members.  This program is unique in that it takes the substantial fiduciary responsibility away from our members.  If you would like to evaluate that option as an alternative to the state offered plan, please reach out to Kristen Wenaas with Ameriprise Financial at 303-407-1250 or We have negotiated a solid offering with fiduciary services and competitive pricing on behalf of our members and we highly encourage you to evaluate the plan.
