Apex Transportation to transport 2020 U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree from Colorado to D.C. using Kenworth T680

KIRKLAND, Wash. — After an official tree-cutting in western Colorado, a Kenworth T680 will be used to transport the 56th U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree to the tree-lighting ceremony in Washington, D.C. This year’s tree, expected to be an Engelmann Spruce, will come from western Colorado’s Grand Mesa, Uncompaghre and Gunnison National Forests.  Read More...

Colorado Clean Trucking Strategy

Registration is now open for Public Meeting #2 of the Colorado Clean Trucking Strategy outreach process. The meeting will be jointly hosted by the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment (CDPHE), Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT), and Colorado Energy Office (CEO).


The content of this meeting will be largely the same as Public Meeting #1 held on August 27th, 2020, therefore stakeholders should not feel obligated to participate in both events.


In-meeting Spanish language interpretation will be available for those who request it.


Please share this information with any other stakeholders who may be interested in participating.

TRAVEL ALERT: I-70 Exit 163 and Edwards Access Road

The Edwards Spur Road project will require a full closure of the CDOT Rest Area at I-70 Exit 163 on Wednesday, Sept. 16 from 6 a.m. to midnight. This closure will allow crews to replace the pavement at the entrance to the rest area. Please plan to use the Rifle Rest Area or Vail Pass Rest Area during this time.
