2015 Top Tech Skills Competition

The Maintenance Council of the Colorado Motor Carriers Association is proud to announce the 3rd Annual Colorado TopTech Skills Competition. This Competition is designed to test the skills of our local Technicians in multiple categories having to do with heavy duty maintenance. This competition will include a written test and several hands on work stations. The Competition will be held on April 25, 2015, at the Lincoln College of Technology Denver Campus, located at 11194 E. 45th Ave. Denver, CO 80239. The Competition will begin at 8:00am.

The overall winner in the Professional and Student categories will have the opportunity to represent Colorado at the 2015 National SuperTech Competition in Orlando, Florida, taking place the week of September 21, 2015. CMCA will help support the technician and their guest at the national competition as funds permit.

ALT Fuels Colorado - Alternative Fuel Vehicle Grant
Application Open

The Regional Air Quality Council (RAQC) is pleased to announce the release of the ALT Fuels Colorado vehicle grant application. At this time, the RAQC is offering funding to incentivize the purchase or lease of new Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), class 2 - 8, compressed natural gas (CNG), propane (LPG), electric (EV), and CNG bi-fuel vehicles.

TRANSIT CLARIFICATION

Please note that this application includes a clarification of the definition of transit. Transit is now defined as a regular, continuing shared-ride surface transportation service that is open to the general public or open to a segment of the general public; or any transportation service contracted by a transit agency.

While transit vehicles and vehicles contracted through a transit agency are ineligible, the following services have been exempted and are eligible: intercity bus, charter bus, school bus, sightseeing, inter-terminal or intra-facility shuttle, and courtesy shuttle services for patrons of specific establishments. With this clarification, the RAQC expects that entities previously unable to apply will be eligible. Examples of eligible entities may include a taxi company or a bus company that travels between two cities.

TIMELINE

Application period opens - February 5, 2015
Deadline for questions - February 19, 2015 5:00 PM MST
Applications due - March 3, 2015 11:59 PM MST

ELIGIBILITY

Public, non-profit and private fleets domiciled in or near the Colorado ozone nonattainment and/or carbon monoxide maintenance areas and operating predominately in the ozone nonattainment and/or carbon monoxide maintenance area. These areas include Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Broomfield, Denver, Douglas, Jefferson, parts of Larimer, parts of Weld, parts of El Paso, and parts of Teller Counties. QUESTIONS

The RAQC will accept questions until 5:00 PM MST on February 19, 2015. All questions must be sent in writing to Kate Ruygrok at kruygrok@raqc.org. To the best of RAQC's ability, all questions will be answered within 3 business days. Technical questions may take longer to answer. Answers will be posted on www.cleanairfleets.org.
