                        Barrel of the Month

The month of April the Service and Missions Team has been collecting gently used or new books for elementary age children. We are currently reaching out to Title 1 schools in the area that will need these resources for their students to have summer reading.

Please help us reach our goal of 500 books!

So it is with children who learn to read fluently and well: They begin to take flight into whole new worlds as effortlessly as young birds take to the sky. —William James

Church Council Nominations

Nominations are now open to fill vacancies on the church council for 2015-2016. Forms to submit a person for consideration can be found outside the door to the Commons. Just fill out the the form, fold in half and drop it in the box. Nominations forms must be received in the church office by 12 noon, May 3, 2015.

We are a group of women who are eager to build new friendships with other women in our church, strengthen the friendships we already have, and to serve God, each other, and our community.

WINGS (Women In God's Service) News:

WINGS is donating 2 baskets to the Youth Silent Auction Fundraiser.  There will be a sign-up sheet in the Commons - please stop by and select an item that you would like to donate for the basket.

The next BUNCO evening will be TONITE.  We will meet at the church at 6:30pm for food and conversation, and BUNCO will begin at 7:00pm. (If you would like to sign up to play monthly and have not yet or would like only to substitute, please contact Kris Hoggard.)

Saturday, April 25, 10:00am will be
               "Yard Art" with Marcia Branch.

Marcia will help us prepare our own yard art.  The following are some ideas that can be used for your yard art:

4 or 5 glass plates of different sizes, shapes, colors, patterns/no patterns
4 small ashtrays to separate the plates
Anything to adorn your art--glass beads, costume jewelry, trinkets, etc.  Marcia will let us know what kind of glue to purchase that will hold these things together!

(And remember, friends are always welcome to attend any of the WINGS activities.)

The Open Spirit Gallery is now accepting applications for the church community summer art show during the months of June and July! All art forms are encouraged.
