How the Magi Became Truly Wise: An Epiphany Pageant

Join us on Sunday, January 4th, during our regular worship time (9:30am) when we celebrate the Feast of  Epiphany! Epiphany (officially January 6th but typically celebrated on the nearest Sunday) is the day we commemorate the revealing of the baby Jesus to the whole world! Through the story (told by actors, readers and musicians of all ages) of the wise men who followed a star and brought gifts to Emmanuel, we remember that God’s love extends not to just one group or one tribe, but to the whole world. The party continues beyond December 25th! Come and celebrate!

We are looking for interested people to help this all come together. We need:

  • Readers
  • Actors (the actors will mainly be children, but we will take children of all ages!)
  • Parents to help supervise during the rehearsal and the performance
  • Costume makers

We will hold a rehearsal for the pageant at 10:00am on Saturday, January 3rd.

Interested in helping out with the pageant? Contact Heather Davis at 503-810-0123.

Give a Gift

Service and Mission Team is helping you with your gift list again this year! OnDecember 7, 14 and 21 we will be doing the Give a Gift program. You can make a donation in your recipient's name to either The Hertel Center Food Bank in Hillsboro or Living Water International. You will be given a card to fill out and
give as your gift.

Please visit us in the Commons to do your gift shopping. A tax deductible gift. Make checks out to
Christ Church and put either Hertel or Living Water

. Thank you.

We are a group of women who are eager to build new friendships with other women in our church, strengthen the friendships we already have, and to serve God, each other, and our community.

The Safe & Healthy Congregations Team at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 12405 SW Butner Road, in Beaverton will be hosting a series of meetings on Healthy Relationships during Advent. What other time of year do the relationships we have matter more?

All are welcome to join the Adult Education class that will be held on Sunday mornings at 10:00 am in St. Andrew’s Fellowship Hall on December 7, 14, and 21. The classes will take a practical look at what healthy relationships look like and how we can shape them and incorporate them in our lives.

Speakers from various organizations will lead us in talking about how we can build life-affirming relationships with friends, family, and people everywhere within our communities. We will also talk about how we can advocate for those struggling with abuse.

Vika Miller from the Rose City Nonviolent Communication and Thriving Life Institute will talk about ways to communicate nonviolently on December 7. On December 14, Kerry Naughton, a lobbyist from the Partnership for Safety and Justice, will speak about what we can do as citizens to help support victims of domestic and sexual violence, as well as how we can hold perpetrators responsible. Finally, on December 21, St. Andrew Lutheran Church associate pastor Robyn Hartwig will talk about what we can learn about healthy relationships from the Bible.

Please join us as we learn how to love our neighbors as ourselves. For more information, contact India Jensen Kerr at seespotrun2013@yahoo.com or call 503-860-5377.
