Faith News Update for January 12th, 2017

January 15th, 2017
9:30am Sunday Worship with

Holy Communion

The Year of the Lord's Favor

Gospel Reading for this Sunday:
Luke 4:14-30

Worship for this Sunday is still scheduled

As of this point we are planning to have worship on Sunday, January 15th. You will receive a Faith News update early Sunday morning if that changes. We recognize there are many snow covered roads so please use your best judgment in your decision to come to worship. If you're not there we will miss you but we understand. Stay safe and warm.

Church Council rescheduled for next week
Because of the snowy roads the Church Council meeting was rescheduled to Thursday, January 19th at 6:30pm.

Pick up personal ornaments & poinsettias

With church canceled last Sunday we still have poinsettias and ornaments for you to collect.

There will be a basket with the personal ornaments in the Commons. Thank you for making our tree more festive!

If you donated for a poinsettia and would like to take one home please take one this Sunday.

Our Love Without Limits series
continues into the new year!
Beginning this Sunday....

Beginning this Sunday, January 15th, from 10:45am to Noon, we will use Jim Wallis’ book, America’s Original Sin: Racism, White Privilege and the Bridge to a New America, as the focal point for conversations about race in America. Reading the book will be helpful, but not required, to participate in these discussions.

For the 2nd session, this Sunday January 22nd, we recommend that those who are reading the book read up to chapter 5. Bring your book and your Bible.
If you still need a copy of the book we have a few extras to give out, contact Pastor David or Rachael.

Let’s explore how we can work together toward racial justice, healing, and reconciliation in our communities and across the country.

This Sunday afternoon!
