Shasta 2012 "Live Like That"

                                                                               by Desiree F.

This was my first year at Shasta and will certainly not be my last! I had heard from those who had gone to Shasta previously that it was amazing, but in reality "amazing" doesn't even begin to cover it. Sure, who wouldn't love to spend a week on a houseboat complete with friends, water sports, Que Bueno, Panoreos and banana boats? But the real reason for this trip was to not only grow closer to one another, but grow closer to God. Of course, we should grow closer to God every day of our lives, but in this day and age people (especially the youth) have trouble finding time to commit to the Lord and their faith. Shasta was not only a perfect opportunity to rekindle your connection with God, but strengthen it and make a promise to continue your journey toward Jesus and not become distracted by the struggles of everyday life. Being surrounded by such a beautiful lake also helped to strengthen your connection with God. We don't appreciate the world around us as often as we should, and to see this gift God has given us in all its majesty was more than inspiring. Shasta opens your eyes to see and realize how God is in every aspect of our lives.

Let It Shine!

A comment from our service in the park...

There were no walls or roofs over our Community of ChristChurch last Sunday.  The rain started (a second damp year), the Front Porch set up team came, the rain stopped.  The worship started, the picnic started, the picnic stopped... but, the worship never ends.

                            Hallelujah!

Thank you Front Porch team and others who helped for giving us another opportunity to praise God and to visit with each other.  Job well done.

Gathered at Rood Bridge Park.

Taking down the walls that seperate us.

Sharing in the laughter.

Blessings come in many packages!
