Service and Mission Team
June Barrel of the Month:
Jesus is Living Water

Like cold water to a weary soul
is good news from a distant land.

                         Proverbs 25:25

For the Service and Mission Team June Barrel of the Month we will be collecting bottled water to support summer mission projects. Please consider a donation of water bottles this month that will be used in conjunction with projects such as lunch at Shute park for children, VBS, providing a cool drink for the homeless in our community, and many other projects where we at ChristChurch are out in our communities serving others. Service and Mission would be grateful to accept both pre-filled recyclable water bottle packs or new refillable water bottles (BPA free please). Thank you!

We are a group of women who are eager to build new friendships with other women in our church, strengthen the friendships we already have, and to serve God, each other, and our community.

        Card Making - Part 2 - Thursday,
                 June 11th, 6:30pm

This is a reminder that we will meet on Thursday, June 11th, at church to finish up our card-making activity. We have supplies ready and lots of fun, quick ideas for cards! Our goal is to make cards for people in two different care facilities. One card of encouragement will go directly to them, and if they are able, they will get approximately four handmade cards to send out themselves. Our small group last month enjoyed the activity so much that they all agreed to come back and make some more. I encourage you to come and help us if you have time. We will begin at 6:30. Jan Oeltjen has offered to pick up some pizzas if you like. You can come directly from work (or wherever) at 6:00 and have a bite to eat first. If you would like to do this, please let me know what time you can come and what kind of pizza you prefer. We should only have to chip in a dollar or two depending on how many people order. We will set up tables in the gym for dining and card making. If you have some ideas of sayings of encouragement or some Bible verses that would be appropriate, I would appreciate you sending those to me and I will type them up and have them ready for that night.

If you would like to join us would you please reply and let me know so we can have the correct amount of tables ready? We were amazed at how many cards we could make and how easy they were to make! The more people we have the easier our task will be. There should be time for you to make a few cards for yourself as well.

Let's Organize the Library in the Commons
We are also getting a small group together to organize the "library area" in the Commons. If you would like to help us and you have not already emailed me, please do so. We will be setting some dates during the summer to complete this task.

                               WINGS Retreat
Please put Saturday, October 17th, on your calendar. We will have our first Women's Retreat on that date. We are beginning to make plans for this fun time. More details will be coming.

                                    BUNCO
Our last BUNCO event (before the fall) was a great time. We will start up again in September if we have enough people to play.

Thank you all so much for your participation in WINGS events. We realize summer is a busy time and people are on the move. Don't feel guilty if you can't participate--we hope that you will be able to join us when you can.

Blessings,
Kris

It’s time again to begin planning our support of Habitat builds this year. ChristChurch is currently signed up for three work days. They are:

                          June 13 (Saturday)

                         July 8 (Wednesday)
                         August 8 (Saturday)

The Habitat site this year is again Allen Estates. More row houses are being built. The site is located at:

12320 SW Sabin St
Beaverton, OR 97008

Here is a link to the Habitat website for this project:

As in previous years, we need volunteers to help with construction and also volunteers to bring lunch for our work team (lunches are covered for June & July). So, if you want to help with the construction of these houses but don’t want to swing a hammer, you can bring lunch!
