Affirmation of Baptism Sunday

Join us for a special worship service this Sunday, June 15th at 9:30am, as we celebrate several of our high school youth who have decided to make public affirmation of their baptism in worship. They are...

Meghan Bullock                       Lena Engbretson                        Jenna Gieszler
David Herder                           Emma Jackson                            Ken Jackson
Blain Radford                           Kendall Wilmoth                          Logan Wilmoth

These awesome young people have been meeting regularly with Pastor David, studying the Bible and what it means to be people of faith. Please keep them in your prayers as they prepare for this day, come celebrate with them on Sunday and join us after worship for cake and refreshments!

Habitat for Humanity Opportunities Coming Up:

We have an opportunity to serve with Habitat for Humanity in a couple different ways this month...

Neighborhood Cleanup at Lindsay Lane -
Sunday, June 22nd, 11:15am - 3:15pm
This is a youth friendly event (14 years old and up). The folks at Willamette West Habitat for Humanity are looking for a group of about 10-15 volunteers to help with a neighborhood cleanup at one of their Habitat neighborhoods, Lindsay Lane in Hillsboro (off of TV Hwy and 73rd, by Lil’ Cooperstown). The volunteers will be working with the HOA to do a neighborhood cleanup which could include weeding, basic cleanup, yard work, etc. There is talk of painting the curbsides as well. All the tools necessary for the group working at the site will be provided.

Volunteers must be 14 or older to participate. So far, we have 3 people signed up and this is probably not enough for the event to happen. So, if you are interested in participating, please e-mail Pastor David (pastordavid@comchristchurch.org) by noon on Friday, June 13th, so we can give Danielle with Habitat a final count.

Camp
Lutherwood to have Inaugural Oktoberfest Celebration and Fundraiser on Saturday, October 4th
As a fundraiser, Camp Lutherwood is asking congregations to put together a themed basket for the silent auction. Some examples of themes include but are not limited to:  cooking, picnic, camp, Scandinavian, travel, gardening, Duck and/or Beaver, etc. The baskets should contain items totaling to a combined value of between $50 and $200.  The goal of this event is to celebrate the summer and to raise funds for programming and site support. The goal is to raise at least $25,000!!!! Let's be a part of this fundraising event. If you have an idea for a theme, please call Lucetta in the church office and give her your idea. Once an idea has been decided on, she can then ask for donations for the basket.  If 5 or 10 people bring in one item, our basket could be complete. Further information will be coming from Camp Lutherwood's Development Associate.
