Pilgrimage:

In times past, God was a subject used by many artists without fear of
scorn or ridicule. The message of God and His intervention in this world was at one time very clear, but it seems to be a voice that has been silenced. My intent is not to preach with my art, but to present
something and someone that has always been very real to me and to do it in a way that would touch the deepest part of the viewer; That veiled place in us that always seems to remain a mystery out of which our truest selves come. - Sandy Bass

Sandy's work will be going up in the Open Spirit Gallery in the coming week.

Baby Care Kits for
Lutheran World Relief continues

A Baby Care Kit from Lutheran World Relief is like a promise. It says to that baby, “Your needs will not be neglected by this world. You matter to us.”

When you send Baby Care Kits, you provide encouragement by welcoming these little ones into an international community that cares. Baby Care Kits are distributed as part of emergency and relief efforts as well as part of LWR health initiatives to encourage women to seek prenatal care. One such initiative in Mali provided training for local prenatal health care workers, who were given Baby Care Kits to distribute when they assisted with births. These kinds of programs help more babies in rural, poor areas receive a healthy start in life.

Shirley Dinger has been assembling Baby Care Kits for Lutheran World Relief for years. Each year, Shirley and a friend assemble at least 80 kits that will benefit mothers and children all over the world. It is clear that this is one of her passions. Shirley is hoping we will all join her in this effort!

We will be collecting items for baby care kits in the barrel through the month of March. For a list of needed items go to the following here.
