     Belonging,  Behaving,  Believing: Blessings!

Dear Friends,

Talk about Blessings!

I left the church building on Sunday afternoon feeling so blessed by God and this congregation! I want to thank you all for a great month of focusing on all the ways we Belong, Behave and Believe as God’s people in this place. I have so many people to thank for making April a truly special month in the life of this community:

Thank you

… to those who filled out financial commitment cards and turned them in as well as those who still plan to do so.  Commitment Cards are still available in the Entry for those who were not able to be with us on Sunday.

… to our bookkeeper, Laura Joelson, who is busy entering all the information, which will go toward helping us plan and prepare a budget for the new fiscal year.

… to the Worship and Tech Teams for leading us in such beautiful celebratory music and praise.

… to Bruce Henderson, Cindy Kinnie and Shanti Binder for sharing their inspiring stories.

… to Pattie Hart and Joanne Hauseman for creating such a festive space and atmosphere for our community potluck.

to everyone who stayed after worship last Sunday and shared good food, conversation and even some games!

And of course, I thank God for every one of you and all the ways God has blessed and continues to bless you and this congregation!

He is risen! He is risen, indeed! Alleluia!

God’s peace,

Pastor David

 Synod Assembly

Keynote Speaker
Diana Butler Bass

The Oregon Synod of the ELCA is holding its annual Synod Assembly in Eugene this month (May 17-19). Our delegates, to this assembly, will be Rich Radford, Rhonda Eppelsheimer, and myself. The keynote speaker is Diana Butler Bass, author of Christianity After Religion, a book I’ve talked about a lot lately and some of us read during the Lenten season. I would like to invite you all to come hear her speak on Friday, May 17th. Her 7 PM keynote address, titled Trending Faith: Being Church in a New Day, is free to the public at the Eugene Hilton, 66 E 6th Ave, Eugene, Oregon.

According to Harper Collins Publishers, "Bass’s clearly worded, powerful, and probing Christianity After Religion is required reading for anyone invested in the future of Christianity.”

I hope to see you there!
Pastor David
