This coming week...

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Informational Forums held this past week. Between the two sessions we had over 50 people attend. On behalf of the church council, I want to thank you for all your good questions and your feedback. Our council members took notes with your comments and questions that will help us determine the best steps moving forward. We will share the fruits of our discernment with you all after the first of the year. If you have more questions or insights to share, please don't hesitate to contact one of us by phone or e-mail. In the meantime we ask you to join us in praying for wisdom and guidance from the God who claims us as beloved children and calls us to worship, learning, fellowship, and service as a part of the Body of Christ, God's church, on Earth. 



We are in the process of receiving applications to fill a part-time (25 to 30 hours/week) Administrative Assistant position following Pattie Hart's departure. In the meantime, I am please to announce that Kelsey Hoggard is filling in as a part-time Administrative Assistant through the month of December. Most weeks you will find her in the office Tuesday through Friday, from 9am to 3pm. She has already been a big help to me and I am very thankful to have her here.

Barrel of the Month Club
You are invited to join The Community of ChristChurch Barrel of the Month Club! Each month we will fill out barrel with designated items to be shared with the community. For December, we are asking for new, unwrapped toys. They will be given to the Hillsboro Fire Department for them to distribute for Christmas. Let's fill our barrel, located in the entryway, and say "Merry Christmas" to the local children in need. Christmas Give-a-Gift Program
During the Christmas season we will be supporting the Hertel Center Food Bank. You can make a donation in a friend or loved one's name, and receive a card from the Hertel Center to give as a gift to that friend or loved one. (A much better gift than a fruitcake or new tie!) We will be available in the Commons after the service on December 8th, 15th, and 22nd to take your donations. This is Christmas shopping made easy! Thank you for your help in feeding the hungry.
