I thank my God every time I remember you, constantly praying with joy in every one of my prayers for all of you, because of your sharing in the gospel from the first day until now.

Philippians 1:3-5

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving Day and I just wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude for all the gifts God has blessed me with. I am thankful for my loving partner, Rhonda, for my beautiful and gifted daughters and the awesome men in their lives. I am thankful for my whole family and for good friends near and far. I am thankful for living in the northwest, the region I grew up in, which is blessed with such a variety of examples of God's good creation. And I am thankful for all of you, my sisters and brothers in Christ in this faith community. We have journeyed together in this place for a little over two years now. We have shared good times and difficult times. Through it all you have been faithful companions all along the way. I am thankful for the opportunity to serve this congregation and the communities that surround it and I look forward to deepening our commitment to serve God and neighbor as we continue to travel on the road that is before us.

Barrel of the Month Club
You are invited to join The Community of ChristChurch Barrel of the MonthClub! Each month we will fill out barrel with designated items to be shared with the community. For December, we are asking for new, unwrapped toys. They will be given to the Hillsboro Fire Department for them to distribute for Christmas. Let's fill our barrel, located in the entryway, and say "Merry Christmas" to the local children in need. Christmas Give-a-Gift Program
During the Christmas season we will be supporting the Hertel Center Food Bank. You can make a donation in a friend or loved one's name, and receive a card from the Hertel Center to give as a gift to that friend or loved one. (A much better gift than a fruitcake or new tie!) We will be available in the Commons after the service on December 8th, 15th, and 22nd to take your donations. This is Christmas shopping made easy! Thank you for your help in feeding the hungry. WINGS Advent Breakfast
WINGS (Women in God's Serivce) invites the women of ChristChurch to an Advent breakfast on Saturday, December 7th, at 9:00am. Please sign up at church or email Kris Hoggard at khpigsfly@msn.com. We would love you to invite a friend and/or bring your daughter! If you can provide a breakfast dish to share, thank you! We are planning a fun morning. Hope you can be there!


Learning and Caring/Sharing Group Meeting
The Learning and Caring/Sharing Group will be meeting on Tuesday, December 9th from 6:30pm-8:30pm.This is a work session of the Learning and Caring/Sharing group to review the draft community spiritual gifts and engagement survey and to develop next steps for supporting our members to feel connected to our community and the larger community. Some of you may have noticed that our web site is not as up to date as we have all come to expect. We know that this web site is an important communication tool, not only for all of you but also for folks who are looking for a place to worship or a faith community to call home. We have recently procured the software needed to maintain and update the site and we assure you we have folks who are working on it and we will have it current as soon as we are able. In the meantime, we thank you for your patience.
