Scripture Reading for this Sunday:

The Worship Team is pleased to welcome into worship this Sunday, October 11th, guest accompanist Laura Cunard.

As a Life-Long Musician, Laura Cunard has been performing a wide variety of musical styles professionally for over 25 years . Laura is a gifted vocalist as well as an accomplished pianist.  We hope you can join us for worship.

Also this Sunday, we welcome back to the pulpit our own Pastor Sally Roach.  Sally will be filling in for Pastor David while he is with Church Council on their retreat at Eagle Crest.

We ask that you keep Pastor David and members of Church Council in your thoughts and prayers.

Continuing this Sunday,

Bible Conversations!

Adult Faith Conversations is now Bible Conversations. After worship, we are offering three opportunities to gather in small groups around the Bible. These conversations will run through Nov 22nd. All you need to bring is your Bible and a desire to get into the conversation!

Exploring the Questions
Chris Moore will be facilitating a small group that will explore the questions they have about the Bible - questions like, “If Adam and Eve were the first (and only) people on Earth, where did their kids’ spouse come from?” or “Does God condone violence?” No question will be off limits. There will not always be easy or simple answers to the questions that are raised. Sometimes our faith grows best simply living with the questions together in community.

Nooma Inspirations
Rhonda Eppelsheimer will be facilitating this small group that will explore various texts of the Bible through the lens of Rob Bell’s Nooma videos. In these short videos, Pastor Bell explores important themes of the Christian faith such as forgiveness, evangelism and loving our neighbor. Heather’s group will use these videos as springboards for engaging conversations about life and faith.

There will be NO Sneak Peek! this Sunday

These Bible Conversations are a wonderful way to grow in our faith through our conversations with Scripture and with each other. It is my hope that you will take advantage of these opportunities to get to know the Bible and each other in a new way. See you on Sunday!

Peace,
Pastor David

   It’s Sock-tober!
During the month of October the Service & Mission Team will be collecting warm, thermal socks. The mission is to ensure warm feet in the coming months for those in our community. Socks will be distributed  to community agencies and individuals who have a need. Please consider picking up a pair or two for the collection barrel.

Service & Mission has its monthly gathering at 6pm on the first Tuesday of each month. We are currently working on strengthening our foundation and direction as a team. We would love to have you join us to learn more or become a regular participant. We are a fun group and a great way to be engaged in active ministry to our community and world.

Feel free to visit with any of the team members to learn more:
Larry Buchholz, Rhonda Eppelsheimer, Bobbie Gregg,
                    Corinne Gross, or Chuck Morgan.

We are a group of women who are eager to build new friendships with other women in our church, strengthen the friendships we already have, and to serve God, each other, and our community.
