Elisha Heals Naaman

Scripture Reading for this Sunday:
2 Kings 5:1-14

The All Saints' Day celebration has a long history in the worship
life of the Christian Church. It began as a commemoration of
the martyrs who had died for the faith, and it has since become
a day when we honor and remember those who
have died.

In light of the story of Naaman being washed in the river and the Festival of
All Saints, we will begin our worship this Sunday with a thanksgiving for our
baptism and a remembrance of those who have gone before us in the faith.

You will be invited to light a candle for all those you wish to lift up on this All Saints Sunday.

REMINDER:  Join us TONITE, Thursday, October 30th, @ 7pm, when we welcome director, Julie Resnick and her colleague Noela Nalajjuna to ChristChurch to share more about the Zoom Uganda project and the inspiring young women it features.

ZoomUganda shares the journey of 12 girls from the Uganda village of Matale, who were given 12 cameras and 24 hours in which to tell their own stories through their own lenses. A Photovoice project directed by Julie Resnick of Portland, Oregon, ZoomUganda empowered its participants to stand in the centers of their world and show you the view from there. On Thursday, October 30th, at 7:00pm, Julie and her Nike colleague, Noella  Nalujjuna (who grew up in Matale) will speak at an event open to the public here at ChristChurch.

Daylight Saving Time 2014 ends Sunday -- get ready to adjust your clocks
Say goodbye to those 6 p.m. sunsets -- the end of Daylight Saving time is coming up this weekend.

The official time change occurs at 2 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 2., when we set our clocks back to 1 a.m.

You'll get an extra hour of sleep that night, and notice a big difference in sunrise and sunset times. With that one-hour time shift, the sun will come up about Sunday at 6:28 a.m., and it will set at 4:51 p.m.
