Many of us have noticed the bold new brand graphics at the entrances of our three campus buildings. These “hands” graphics are our personal renditions of the brand illustration we see on our website home page. I deeply appreciate these symbolic representations of our passions to be inspired, equipped and engaged. These hands call us to reach upward to our God in our search for truth. These hands remind us that our source of motivation, knowledge and work is beyond ourselves. These hands symbolize the relationship of our community with its range of ages and ethnicities. These hands reflect our yearning to grow, to change, and to become more. These hands should help us tell our DCS story of Christian education from a Reformed perspective. As with any work of art, these hands invite a wide variety of interpretations and inspirations. I hope to hear some of your personal stories as you experience these hands and as you identify new ways to live within our God-honoring DCS brand.

| 9Health Fair at Highlands Ranch |
So have you ever seen a real human lung after years of smoking? How good's your flexibility? Do you know what kinds of food ARE on your plate, much less what kinds should be?
These questions (and their answers) and lots of others could be heard in every corner of the Highlands Ranch gym last Friday, as K-7 students and adult visitors moved from station to station around the 9Health Fair, interacting with 8th-grade "teacher-facilitators," joining in the fun of the hands-on activities, and not surprisingly, learning a lot about health and the human body in the process.
Hosted by the Highlands Ranch campus each year for the last five years, the 9Health Fair offers an opportunity for all students to focus on key aspects of health in highly interactive, memorable ways, as well as for 8th graders to develop important organizational and leadership skills as they first research, and then display and teach key concepts to younger children. Congratulations and thank you to Highlands Ranch teachers Carol Buikema and Judy Gunnink who coordinate the event and help prepare our wonderful 8th-grade "experts" (see photo below).
