A Letter From Our Leader

What makes a global city? Sure, you can count the number of international flights or the number of companies who do work abroad. But becoming global also means building a city that attracts a global audience, with remarkable architecture and rich experiences shared by visitors and locals alike. Equally important is a global mindset—a willingness to look beyond the familiar to capture new ideas and make new connections. These are some of the insights our Denver delegation brought back from our 26th Leadership Exchange (LEX) trip to Chicago. LEX is all about bringing the best ideas home and Chicago got us thinking about how we can increase our global impact as a center for job growth, innovation and culture. As a region we’ve made great strides in these areas, but some of our best opportunities still lie ahead.

And speaking of impact, I’m thrilled to share with you our annual report, reflecting on our last year. We’ve been asking: What makes a strong leader? And in particular, what makes a strong Colorado leader? We started answering that question in this report, gaining insight from our alumni and sharing some unique, personal stories of leadership journeys—and how they’ve been empowered to lead in their community by getting involved with the Leadership Foundation. Think of it as a “how-to” guide to Colorado leadership. Click here to read their stories.
