AAKF National Tournament a Success!
The 49th AAKF National Championships on June 11-12 in Seattle was a great success. Congratulations to everyone who competed, but especially to Laurie Elliott from the St Paul dojo. Laurie placed 2nd in three events- Individual Kata, Kogo-kumite and Fukugo (alternating kata and kumite). Also, Ashley Ross from the Minneapolis dojo placed 4th in both Individual Kata and Kogo-Kumite.
We had several students that advanced past the first round, but Laurie and Ashley were the only ones from our region that placed.

The tournament was very well organized and the host region did a great job. The mini-camp was very well attended with close to 70 participants over the two days.
Next year the championships will be at Atlanta.
North Central Regional Summer Camp August 5-8
The NCR summer camp will once again be held at the Minneapolis dojo. The event will take place from August 5-8. This years instructors will include Sensei Chris Smaby, Sensei Jerry Marr and Sensei Toru Shimoji. Also coming to the camp is Sensei Tabassi from Washington DC.

Holiday Class Schedule
The 4th of July is on a Sunday this year. The St. Paul dojo will close on Saturday, July 3rd. We will be open for the normal class schedule on July 5th.
Next Kyu Examination
The next kyu examination will be given by Sensei Fusaro on
Tuesday, June 29th (7:30 pm).
