Maine Lighthouse Ride 2012
2012 Maine Lighthouse Ride Cycles Ahead

One of the most popular and fastest-growing bike rides in Maine is closer than you think – September 8 is right around the corner! We are well ahead of last year’s registration levels for the 2012 Maine Lighthouse Ride with over 100 registrants already signed up! Don’t miss out – a free T-shirt is available only to the first 500 registrants before September 1 (some shirts MAY be available for purchase on ride day). More info on our web site, and you can Register here.

ETA relies on volunteers!
Volunteers Needed for MLR – and beyond

Of course, the Maine Lighthouse Ride would not be possible without the many helping hands of our volunteers! We are always looking to add to this dedicated group of assistants, and we hope that YOU can help us to achieve another fun and successful ride! If you can join us, please contact Patti Poole by email. We are also looking for office helpers, and volunteers to lead seasonal trail events, from nature walks to x-country skiing and snowshoeing (hey, it’s never too early to plan!). Contact us by email for more info.

Maine Bike Rally Rolls into Biddeford

The 24th Maine Bike Rally takes place in Biddeford this year on July 6, 7 and 8. The Rally offers 3 days of rides, entertainment and camaraderie with fellow bicycle enthusiasts. The schedule includes stargazing night rides, a century ride and a time trial. For more information, visit www.mainebikerally.org.

Invite Friends to Join the ETA!
The Eastern Trail Alliance receives no state or federal operating funds. ETA depends upon member dues, Maine Lighthouse Ride, and private grants to operate. ETA needs you and your friends to keep up its public outreach and lobbying to receive state federal funds to continue construction. Many, many thanks to our members and supporters without whose help there could be no Eastern Trail! Please forward this newsletter to your friends that may be interested in the trail. Joining the Alliance is easy! Just click here!
