6Blue V’s Yarrawarrah Tigers Round 4
Lost 20 - 8
A cold windy morning saw us up on the hill against the Yarrawarrah Tigers. The boys took to the field with gusto lead by our captain Kane and did really well. Blake, Zane & Ryder were our tackling machines, tackling hard all game. Beau & Brayden kept the opposition guessing weaving in and out of the defence. Charlie, Koby & Ryan all made easy metres with charging runs up the middle. Jarrod and Cooper were in everything and showed support to all the boys. Good teamwork boys – make sure you listen to coach Rosco and we will improve in leaps and bounds.
Tries – 2 Brayden Wallace. Man of the Match – Beau Wallace.

6 Yellow V’s Kurnell Stingrays Round 4
Won 32 - 4
The boys got off to a strong start in this match in both attack and defence and dominated all game. A mid week training session which concentrated on quick plays of the ball and a new structure in the defensive line really took the boys game up a level.
All the boys pitched in as a team with strong runs coming from Jack Haigh, Christopher Mexsom, Kai Thatcher and Hayden Williams. One of the highlights of the match was seeing Luke Jones palm his way through most of the Stingrays and continue to keep his legs pumping away after Kurnell had grabbed a hold of his Jersey.
Strong efforts in defense on the left, right and in the middle from Jayke Fibbins, Brandon Wolkiewicz and Man of the match Ryan Turner. These 3 kids also scored all of the tries on the back of their and their footy mates defensive effort along with a converted try from Jayke.
7 Green V’s Menai Roosters Round 4
Won 46 - 0
It was another great effort by the boys this week. They all played great footy and trys were shared around this week with Luke 2, Kooper 2, Joel 1, Lachie 1, Kurt 1, Jy 1 (McDonalds Award), Jett 1 and congratulations to Rory who scored his first try of the season and tackled well all day. His efforts were rewarded with the Milkshake award this week. Kooper received the trophy for player of the game for his never give up attitude. He tackled a player on the left of the field, got up for the next play and ran to the right of the field to tackle that player. It was great viewing. Jake (who copped some rough treatment), Riley and Nick continue to play well in the middle as do all our players. With such a big group it is hard for the kids to get as much ball as they would like but they are all doing great and being team players. Keep up the great work boys.
13A V’s St Pats Round 3
Won 34 - 12
Another good win, following on from our victory the previous week against De La Salle 14-10.
In this game we really looked impressive, we lead 26-0 at halftime and went to a 34-0 lead in the second half before losing our intensity and letting them in for a couple of late tries.
Dylan Lees moved from the wing to five-eight for this game and played really well in this key position and deservedly got our Man of the Match.
One of our strike players James "the Machine" Wayland also put in a great performance with 3 tries from the Front Row and won an award.
The other notable performance on the day was Zac Hunter who from the second row made numerous line breaks and heaps of tackles and won an award.
Keep up the good work boys!
Scorers: Tries: James Wayland 3, Josh Ridge 1, Matheson Johns 1, Bevan Gemmell 1, Joel Collier 1. Goals: Bevan Gemmell 3.

16A V’s De La Salle Round 4
Lost 36 - 14
Another great effort by the boys today, with some good footy played by both teams. De La turned up with the intention of bashing us into submission with their forward pack lining up in numbers to put a shot on us. Unfortunately they got big Simmo who suffered a re-occuring head injury which is a big worry, hope all goes well mate. On the plus side we realised that going up the middle probably wasn’t the best idea and after a quick shift we found space on the fringes. Some good hole running from Dunny and a good ball from Smithy and once again we scored the first try of the game. After a bit of an arm wrestle De La managed to score a couple of quick tries to lead 10-6. We then switched back on and played some good footy, with some intelligent kicking from Jordan we managed to build some pressure and eventually scored from a cross field bomb from Jordan to a flying Hippo to score in the corner. With the scores even at 10 all once again we switched off and they scored a couple of quick tries up the middle. These little lapses are the only difference between us and the rest of A Grade at the moment. Once we learn to concentrate for the full 60mins I’m sure we will start to worry some of the other teams on the scoreboard.
We did manage to finish the game on a high with Jordan and Hippo again combining with another cross field kick to score. This time Hippo showed plenty of skill to reach back whilst mid air to catch the ball before reaching out to score a great try.
Good games today from Ranga who worked hard all day, Jacko who went the full game without a break, and Mick who again is playing some good footy in A grade. Awards went to Jordan for his sensational kicking game and Bluey for a great effort in both attack and defence. Keep at it Bluey, I’m sure some good results are just around the corner for you. Man of the Match again went to Hippo who was outstanding in the air, and very strong all over the park.
Keep at it boys, at the rate we are improving I’m sure a really good result isn’t too far away.
A-Grade V’s St Patricks Round 4
Won 50-20
I start this weekend’s report by congratulating our ball boy Bailey Ferguson who was fortunate enough to run out onto Toyota Park with Paul Gallen for the kick off of the first grade game against Easts. Bailey took part today in a disabilities competition that in the main has been put together after many hours of hard work by our club President Grahame Wagener. Today’s trial game was the first of this kind of competition and from the success of the day I’m sure there will be a lot more of these events to come. Congratulations to both Bailey and Grahame for your wonderful efforts.
OK, onto today’s game and going by the score above you wouldn’t be blamed for thinking this was an easy victory for our side. In actual fact we came up against a very determined St Patricks side that seemed more intent on just causing damage out on the paddock and unlike our brilliant preparation and start to last weekend’s game, we seemed to go into today’s game very slow and a bit disorganised. This was probably due to St Patricks looking like forfeiting the game right up until about 20 minutes before kickoff resulting in our side not sure whether to bother about getting strapped and prepared for the game until the last minute.
St Pats got the early points but it wasn’t long before we started to wear them down and take control of the game. Our halves and back line did a great job throwing the ball around in an effort to confuse and tire out their big hitters which at times seemed like our guys were playing 13 forwards. This action combined with some solid performances from our forwards, Scott Nanacarrow, Viliam Napa’a and Nathan Bullock seen us go to the half time break 22-4 up.
As to be expected, St Pats started off the second half resembling more like a team of head hunters over an A-Grade side which resulted in the overall game being a very scrappy, stop, start game. Credit must be given to the coaching of our side as we just stuck to our game plan resulting in our guys being very well drilled to refrain from lowering to our opposition’s tactics but instead we stuck to our game plan and let the scoreboard be our tuff talk.
Congratulations to Kain Ebb who played his first game in A-Grade to today and was rewarded with a nice try out wide. Also big thanks to big Viliam Napa’a who backed up from the A-reserves game to assist up front. Andrew Johnston walked away with a very well deserved man of the match with Scott Nancarrow in the running with a very close second place.

A-Grade Reserves V’s Aquinas Round 4
Lost – 42 - 0
This week we played the leaders Aquinas and came away with a less than satisfactory result. Gone was the fierce defence from the previous game and our attack was ordinary with many mistakes made whilst in possession. The opposition were clearly the better side on the day but the score line did not reflect the true state of play as we aided the opposition to score at least four of their tries through mistakes and negative play. Tyran Hall was asked to play fullback this week due to the elevation of Kain Ebb to A grade and did a great job, thanks Tyran for playing in an unfamiliar position and putting in 100% effort. Our forwards were led by Shane and Dan, welcome back Shane, big effort in attack and defence. Bruey also put in a huge effort and continues to play more minutes on the field than any of the other forwards and on Sunday against a pretty strong Aquinas forward pack, says a lot for his fitness, good stuff Dan.
Vilaim played well making some damaging runs and solid tackles but had to finish the game early to back up to play A grade, great club effort. Dom and Raymor put in big efforts and continue to be our most consistent performers each week. Logan improves each game he plays in the half back position and got in some really good kicks against strong opposition.
Benny Cotton was hit (smashed actually) in probably the best and hardest tackle of the game, injuring his shoulder, we hope he has a speedy recovery. Wazza also copped one near the end of the game and kept asking "who spiked my drink" until we convinced him that he was at Anzac at 2 p.m. and not Hunters at 2 a.m. Jessie Hill never gave up the chase, Steve Dabbin also tried hard to get the side moving in the right direction. The score line would indicate that not everyone put in but this was not the case it was how much you put in and I am sure all concerned with our team would agree that we are a better side than we showed on Sunday.
Thanks also to Logan and Ben for getting to the ground early and helping with the barby and also helping to pull down the ground at the completion of the A grade.
Our best and fairest points went to Shane, Tyran and Dan (not in that order), players player award went to Dominic and the beer awards went to Logan, Wazza and Shane.
