6 Blue V’s Kurnell Stingrays Round 7
Lost 28 - 8
Kurnell stung us today, right from the kick off they were in with the first try of the match. And it didn’t get much better. There was a glimmer of hope in the first third when Brayden did his magic weaving thru the Stingrays to score a length of the field try. Kane, Beau and Ryan tackled well and all had powerful runs using every effort to try and break thru the Stingrays defence. In the second third we saw Ryder have a charging run up the sideline, earning him “Man of the Match”. Charlie used his strength to bust thru the ray’s defence to come up with our second try. Zane, Koby and Blake had their game faces on and tried really hard in both attack and defence all game. In the final third Kurnell was dancing with tries. Jarrod and Cooper worked hard trying to tackle the opposition but today was not our day. Remember boys to listen to Rosco and play together as a team and we should see some improvements.
Thankyou to all the parents for helping out with ground duty. Enjoy the week off next week.

7 Green V’s Yarrawarrah Round 7
Won 40 - 4
It was a tough round this week. Yarrawarra defended well and were hard to get around. We had quite a few unwell boys this week that stood up and still gave it their best – Jake, Jett, Lachie & Kurt put in a gallant effort especially considering they were unwell. Congratulations to Kurt who played a great game and earned our trophy for the week. Lachie received our pub award and Jake the Maccas award. A special mention must go to Luke who not only got 4 try’s and converted his goal but also covered his sick team mates and had his best tackling game for the year. Other try scorers for the week were Joel 2, Lachie 1,and Kurt 1 with goals going to, Lachie, Jy and Jake as well as Luke. Well done to the boys for having a clean sweep for round 1. We play Como for the start of round 2 this week and we are also competing in a knockout gala day on Sunday. It a big weekend of footy and we hope to do well as the representatives of the Engadine Dragons. Good luck boys.
U13A V’s St Pats/St Josephs Round 7
Won 42- 4
Another great win! Probably our best performance of the season the way we threw the ball around.
We again went into this game with three "A" graders out for various reasons which left us with twelve "A" graders to play on the day.
Jack Schuetrim this time came up from the 13B's and played a full game on the wing for us after playing a full game in B grade and went very well, tackling well and making no mistakes in his carries.
Other 13B players occupied our bench and Chris Jenkins came on for the last 15 minutes when some of our players needed a breather.
Josh Ridge duly won the Man of the Match for a great performance, scoring two long distance solo tries, Josh was closely followed by Keiran Levin who had his best game to date and was great in the dummy half role and won an award.
Bevan Gemmell also won an award for an outstanding individual performance scoring a try and kicking 7 goals from 7 attempts, with his last kick from the sideline in front of our supporters bringing the house down.
Lastly Jake Wheeler won an award, he plays exceptional football each week, in this game he scored two tries, set up a couple of others and was great in defence.
Well-done to all of you for such a great effort, I was again one very proud coach.
Scorers: Tries: Josh Ridge 2, Jake Wheeler 2, Joel Collier 1, Ryan Levin 1, Bevan Gemmell 1, Goals: Bevan Gemmell 7.

A-Grade V’s St Josephs Round 7
Won by forfeit
Unfortunately our opposition today “St Josephs” had to forfeit leaving us without a game. The up side of this is that we have now completed the full first round of footy against all clubs and have come through undefeated. A nice record to have but we know we have a lot more work ahead of us if we are to go one step further this year and win the comp.
We have a bye this coming long weekend and would like to wish anyone going away for the long weekend a safe and enjoyable break from footy. For those of you staying in Sydney and looking for something to do this Saturday, we have four of our A-Grade players (Pat Carr, Matt Stubbs, Chris Wood and Nathan Bullock) playing in the Jack Gibson Cup at Redfern Oval kicking off at 2.30pm. Full details provided below.
Jack Gibson Cup 2011
