PUD raises rates to pay for *fiber optics*

I understand no one wants their rates increased, but this is a project which will be funded by a Federal Tax dollars. You already gave them the money, I think it's a wise choice to spend just a little more to receive some benefit from taxes you've already paid. What's the other option? Someone else gets to benefit from your tax dollars.... Tough call, but I think it's a smart move.

City looks at *fiber optic* costs

This is very similar to one of the largest FTTx projects which has taken place in Chattanooga TN for meter reading. It's a great example of forward thinking utilities trying to create a new revenue stream while reducing existing costs. I love it!
