Welcome to Willena Johnson, one of the newest additions to our staff! Willena joined our Administrative Department last fall.
"I was born and raised in North Spokane and started my family three years ago with my husband, Adam, and our dog, Arlee. I am new to Fidelity Associates, coming from customer service at Babies R Us, but am loving my new career. In my spare time I enjoy hanging out with friends, shopping, and taking care of Arlee." |

| Abondigas Soup (Mexican Veggie Meatball) |

Here's a great soup recipe for a cool winter day!
1 Lb Lean Ground Beef
2 Eggs
1/4 Cup Flour
Salt/Pepper/Garlic Powder
2 Bunches green onions - sliced
1 Medium onion - diced
1 can diced green chilies (7 oz)
1 large 28 oz can tomatoes + 1 small can chopped tomatoes (Mexican stewed tomatoes are great!)
1 tsp oregano
1 tsp garlic salt
1 tsp cumin
1.5 quarts water plus more if you use lots of veggies (or add a can of chicken or beef broth)
Chopped carrots and large hunks of potatoes and zucchini - to your liking
Cilantro for garnish
Saute onion in small amount of oil in large soup pot - add can tomatoes, chilies, seasoning and the water - salt & pepper. As this comes to a boil, moisten hands and combine meat, eggs, flour, salt & pepper and garlic powder and form small meatballs - drop into soup one by one and keep the soup at a boil. Add potatoes and carrots, zucchini and green onions - simmer for about 45 minutes.
Sprinkle fresh chopped cilantro on top of each serving - serve with warm tortillas or jalapeno cheese bread. |
| Revenge of the Rubber Chicken |
The 3rd Annual Revenge of the Rubber Chicken event is coming up on Friday, March 15. This scholarship fundraising basketball game pits Alumni from Ferris High School against Alumni from Lewis and Clark High School. The mission of the event is to raise money to support Spokane South Rotary Club's College Scholarship Fund which has provided more than $100,000 in scholarships to Ferris and LC graduating seniors over the past 15 years.
