MEET TAUNJA MURPHY
Taunja

I grew up in the small town of Sprague, WA (graduating class of 6). After high school, I moved to Cheney where I earned my bachelor's degree at Eastern Washington University, majoring in accounting and business administration with a minor in management information systems. After school I continued studying and passed the CPA exam. In September 2011, I joined Fidelity Associates as a part-time administrative assistant. I am now working in both the administrative and accounting departments.

In my free time, I love spending time with my boyfriend Peter watching movies from almost every genre. I also spend time volunteering at a local youth group. Every summer, I look forward to fishing with my brother Ron while trying to avoid sunburn. I collect Superman comic books, and my favorite thing to do is watch football with my family.

 PARADE OF PAWS CHARITY RAFFLE
Spokane Humane Society's "Parade of Paws" was held on June 9th. The Parade of Paws is a day of fun raising funds to benefit the animals at the Spokane Humane Society waiting for their forever homes.

At Fidelity, we held a raffle for the Parade of Paws, with employees both donating items and buying raffle tickets for two gift baskets. Two lucky winners won a "Wine and Chocolate Lovers Package", and a "Sports Lover's Package", and best of all $265 was raised for the animals!

Ron Morris Heating, Air Conditioning
& Fireplace Center
RonMorrislogo
Ron Morris Heating and Air Conditioning is a locally owned and family operated business since 1989. Ron started working in HVAC while still in school at Rogers High School. He found the trade that would take him through the next 40 years. Starting his own business in 1989 with two young boys and his wife, they were a family business. But it wasn't until 1997 after graduating from college, his oldest son Alex made it a complete family business by joining Ron. Working together, the business grew while working for Spokane's finest home builders. After hundreds and hundreds of HVAC systems in 2001, they opened the Fireplace Center at 8119 N Division, a complete fireplace retail store. They can take care of all your heating, cooling and fireplace needs. The service department can service all brands of furnaces, fireplaces and hot water heaters. They are fully trained, certified and licensed, priding themselves on getting the job done in a timely fashion keeping the cost low.

The Fireplace Center has over 50 burning displays. With Alex at the helm, and his knowledge of fireplaces, one can be installed for any application. Ron and Alex can handle your entire furnace, air conditioning and hot water tank needs. With a combined 55 years experience, there is no home project they cannot handle. Their knowledge and experience have taken them to Priest Lake and Coeur d'Alene Lake for many beautiful and unique home installs. They have also done work for some of Spokane's best restaurants, hotels, retail stores and fast food establishments.

Ron and Alex have worked closely on several occasions with the KXLY Extreme Team donating time and materials for community projects. They have also sponsored countless kids' sports teams around the community.

They both believe in high quality work, fair prices, and always a professional manner. Their motto has been "Warming and Cooling your home with quality, because your home is our family business."

Scott Jones with Leslie & Tom Stachecki
Each May for the past 20 years, more than 400 members of the regional business community have gathered to celebrate business excellence throughout the greater Spokane area. Fidelity CEO Scott Jones was at this year's Greater Spokane Inc. AGORA breakfast to congratulate the 2012 award winner in the small business category, Angus Meats and owners Leslie & Tom Stachecki. Comments from the AGORA judges included: "There is a reason Angus Meats has been in business for so many years. The products are fantastic, it's passionate about people, and it maintains exquisite attention to detail in everything it does."

We also congratulate Inland Northwest Community Foundation for their nomination as a finalist in the small nonprofit category. We are proud of our clients! At Fidelity, we understand the importance of being recognized as a finalist, as we were the proud winner of the AGORA Award back in 2000.
Melt-In-Your-Mouth Brine Chicken for BBQ
Brining chicken before cooking improves the chicken's flavor. The sugar in the brine makes the chicken slightly more prone to burning; watch it very carefully during the initial browning period to prevent charring.

You will need:
- 3/4 cup salt
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 8 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs or 4 whole bone-in, skin-on chicken legs
- 4 split bone-in, skin-on chicken breasts, 10 - 12 ounces each
- Ground black pepper
- Large disposable aluminum baking pan or zip lock bags
- 1/2 cup Barbecue Sauce, plus extra for serving

Dissolve half of salt and half of sugar in 1 quart cold
water in gallon-sized zipper-lock plastic bag. Add chicken thighs or legs; press out as much air as possible from bag and seal. Repeat process in second bag with remaining salt, sugar, 1 quart cold water, and chicken breasts. Refrigerate both bags until chicken is fully seasoned, about 1 1/2 hours.

Turn all burners to high, close lid, and heat grill until very hot, about 15 minutes. Use grill brush to scrape cooking grate clean. Leave one burner on high and turn other burner(s) down to medium-low.

Meanwhile, remove chicken from brine, rinse well, dry thoroughly with
paper towels, and season with pepper to taste.

C
ook chicken parts, covered, over the hotter part of the grill until seared, one
to two minutes on each side for legs and thighs, two to three minutes per side for breasts. Move chicken to cooler part of grill; continue to grill, covered and turning occasionally, until dark and full cooked, 12 to 16 minutes for thighs, 16 to 20 minutes for whole legs. Cook the breasts, skin-side up and covered, for 10 minutes, then turn and cook for five minutes more or until done. Brush with barbecue sauce for the last 30 minutes of cooking, and serve with extra sauce.
