Welcome to Joi Rhodes, the newest addition to our Sales Team! She joined Fidelity as a Personal Insurance Advisor in January 2013.
"I have been in the insurance industry for almost two years. I was born and raised in the Spokane area and joined Fidelity Associates in 2013. I consider myself a teacher first and then an agent. It is important for me that my clients are educated first on how insurance policies work so that they are able to make an informed decision on how to protect their family, business, or both. Fidelity Associates offers all of my clients access to a full-time staff that is always here to help. | Time to Change Your W-4? |
This month's Fidelity Manager's Corner comes from our Accounting Department and Controller Diane Huber:
As the tax deadline of April 15th approaches, it may be time for you to review your W-4 form. If you owe taxes, are receiving a large refund or maybe had a change in marital status since you last completed a W-4 form, it is a good idea to review your filing status and the number of allowances you are claiming.
You should be able to get a form W-4 from your employer and you can complete the Personal Allowances Worksheet to help you figure out if you are withholding correctly.
You can always log on to the IRS website at www.irs.gov and type in W-4 in the search box to print your own copy of that form. |
| Do I Need Renters Insurance? |

The short answer? Yes - even if you don't own expensive jewelry or fancy furniture.
Still, most renters - seven in 10, according to an apartments.com survey - forego coverage. The reason? Most of us don't think we own enough stuff. But most renters do, says Robert Detlefsen, vice president of public policy with the National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies, in USAA Magazine.
To decide how much insurance to buy, you need to know the value of all your personal possessions - including furniture, clothing, electronics, appliances, kitchen utensils and even towels and bedding. After tallying what it would cost to replace it all, many renters discover that they own more than they thought.
Use an online home inventory tool like the "Know Your Stuff" free software, to create and update your home inventory.
Many renters also mistakenly believe that their landlord's insurance will cover them if there is a fire, theft or other catastrophe - this is not the case. The landlord probably has insurance to protect the building itself, but not for renters' possessions inside.
At a cost often less than $20 per month - depending on how much coverage you request and other factors, this is peace of mind is worth considering.

| Saturday Mail Delivery Could End - How Does This Impact Your Mailed Premium Payments? |

The US Postal Service, among other cost-cutting measures, is seeking to end Saturday postal delivery of everything except packages. The move is being considered in Congress and could begin in August.
As this move could impact efficient delivery of on-time payments by mail, including insurance premiums, this is a good time to consider setting up your insurance premium payments on an automatic or recurring payment program, if you haven't already. In addition to saving you on postage and time writing & mailing checks every month or renewal, these programs ensure that your payment is received on time by the company. Keeping an on-time payment history is important not only to help you avoid incurring late payment fees, but also in maintaining a positive record with an insurance company, and can even factor in to rates or the company's ability to reinstate coverage should there happen to be a lapse in the future.
Automatic payment programs can be set up quickly and easily with most of our companies, and you can often choose between having your payments deducted from your checking account or via a debit or credit card. Contact your Account Manager today if you have questions or would like to get set up. |
| Make-Ahead Brunch Casserole |
This is a great recipe to try for your Easter brunch - put it together the night before, refrigerate, then pop in the oven in the morning. Save yourself some time during the Easter morning activities!
9 x 13 greased casserole
27 oz package hash brown patties (use about 8)
1.5 lbs browned sausage or crumbled bacon
3 cups shredded cheese - mixed jack/cheddar
1 dozen eggs
2 cups half/half
Optional: Green peppers/mushrooms/fresh onions/sliced tomatoes
Layer potatoes - top with meat, cheese, and optional veggies. Mix eggs, half/half, salt & pepper in a blender. Pour over the casserole and refrigerate overnight.
Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and let stand for 10 minutes.

| Don't Miss Ham on Regal 2013! |
This year's Ham on Regal shows are coming soon, with show dates of April 21 - April 27.
Ham on Regal is an original musical/comedy show written and performed by Ferris High School parents and school staff. This unique fundraiser enables the Ferris Parent Teacher Group to allocate proceeds from the show to various activities, academics, athletics, administrative and supply needs to classrooms, teachers and students.
This year's theme is "The Regal Avengers - Project Blueprint". In addition to the shows, a raffle will be held for great prizes - a Downtown Adventure Package at The Davenport Hotel and Tower, and a Northern Quest Resort & Casino Escape.
