Greetings Friends, I want to invite you to our first annual Fiber Art Heritage Craft Week, June 12 - 18th on the campus of Florence Thomas Art School in Glendale Springs.
We will kick off the week long celebration on Sunday afternoon, from 1-4 pm, with artists providing demonstrations in the various fiber arts, from spinning and weaving to rug hooking and basket making. This is the perfect Sunday afternoon outing for the entire family and it is provided free of charge in partnership with the Blue Ridge Fiber Guild.
For those interested in learning the various crafts, workshops will be hosted throughout the week in spinning, weaving on a loom, knitting, or primitive rug hooking. (Click here to see a complete schedule) **Registration is still open for the spinning, weaving and knitting workshops.
Then on Thursday, June 16th, the studio will be open, from 9 am to 4 pm, for all artists interested in playing with felt. This is a free group led social event for all, come share your experience and talents with other felters. Participants should bring their own materials. There is no cost for this event.
The celebration will culminate on Saturday, from 10 am - 1pm, at our Free Fibers Market. Here you can view the projects completed in the workshops and have an opportunity to purchase one-of-a-kind handmade fiber items or the materials to make your own.
This is a very exciting opportunity and I hope to see you there. In the mean while, please feel free to stop in anytime you are in the Glendale Springs area. I welcome you to visit the Florence Thomas Gallery, hours are Monday - Friday 9am - 4pm.
Sincerely,Meghan B Minton Executive Director

Now there is one more reason:
Students who attend 9 full days of workshops in a three-season period get one day FREE!
The program is retro-active to our first season of classes in 2008.
