Are You Preparing for Winter?
Every fall, I observe a family of chipmunks as they scamper about gathering
all kinds of items in preparation for the winter. I am always amazed by these
little creatures, how they survive through the long winter months, then reappear
a little thinner, yet bright-eyed and ready to run at the first light of spring.
We, as artist, can learn a few lessons from these amazing creatures.
- Our development as a creative being will go through seasons (note I did
not say might). There will be times of abundance and times of drought. The key
is to BE PREPARED.
- These seasons will come and go, while it may not be on your time schedule,
they will come to an end and another will begin. The key is to BE PREPARED.
- Recognize the importance of each season. The key is the BE PREPARED.
Over the next few months, our e-news will be filled with information that will help you BE PREPARED to take
advantage of the unique opportunities each season provides, be it celebrating in the abundance
of summer or resting in inactivity of winter.
In the meantime, we too are preparing for the close of one season and the beginning of
another; and would like to hear from you. Please take some time to reflect on
your past experiences and let us know what we can do to help Florence Thomas
Art School emerge in full force in the spring “bright-eyed and bushy-tailed!”
Sincerely,
Meghan B Minton
