Kids Night Out Children ages 4-12 can join us at the YMCA on the last Friday of every month from 5-9 p.m. This is a drop off event and we will entertain your children while you enjoy a night out or a quiet night alone. Children always receive dinner, do a craft or activity and swim! Each month is a different theme and the event is run by trained, Child watch staff.
Tot Camp Ms. Britny, Mr. Jesse, and Ms. Katie would like to thank all of their campers from this summer’s Tot Camp. The summer really was a blast and they had fun swimming, exploring and doing crafts. The weeks that were really memorable were when Officer Ortiz from the Lakewood Police Department let us look at her police car and told the kids about keeping safe during Safety Week. Campers also loved making lava lamps out of vegetable oil and water bottles during Science Week. We wish all of our campers luck in the coming year at their new preschools and playgroups. We hope to see everyone this winter break for another Tot Camp!!
Get Swimming! Studies indicate that there are about 3,600 unintentional drowning deaths in the United States alone every year. Make sure that your children know how to swim! Join the Lakewood YMCA for swim lessons this fall. Swimming is a greatr way for your kids to stay active and break away from the TV, computer, and video games for a little bit each week. And if you don't know how to swim yourself, it's never too late to learn now. Classes are offered to fit everyone's schedule, six days a week, morning, afternoon and evening.
