Mind, Body and Spirit: Holistic Eating   with
Kim Evans ~
Thursday, January 15th ~ 6:00-7:30 PM

Holistic Eating:  Learn how to eat for health, energy and vitality.  We will discuss what encompasses a balanced diet, how it affects your health and vitality and ways to keep your energy optimized with nutrition (such as balancing healthy fats, carbohydrates and proteins).  We'll talk about the negative effects of processed foods, sugar and high glycemic carbohydrates on health and well-being.  I'll highlight a recent patient who decreased his fasting blood sugar from 192 to 122 in 4 months with a healthy diet (even over the holidays!).  Diet and exercise are 2 of the most important Integrative Medicine interventions that are used on a day to day basis.  Diet is an integral part of Integrative Medicine.

Location:  Norton Suburban, the Marshall Women's Center (first floor  Conference room), Suite 108- 1A, 4001 Dutchmans Lane, Louisville, KY 40207

Level II: Saturday, January 17th ~

Do you want physical, emotional, and spiritual health in your life and the lives of those around you?
Have you ever been interested in learning a healing modality?
Would you love to get in touch with your innate strengths and gifts?
Do you seek a profound sense of peace and a deeper connection with the Divine in your life?
Are you loking for professional skills that will allow you to support yourself and your family?
If any of this sounds like you, keep reading!  This training may be for you!

Reiki (ray-key) a healing technique based on the principle that the therapist can transfer energy into the patient by means of touch, to activate the natural healing processes of the patient's body and restore physical and emotional well-being.

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing.  It is administered by "laying of hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive.  If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.
The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "God's Wisdom or the hat is Reiki?  Reiki is a spiritual healing art with its roots in Japanese origin.  The word Reiki comes from the Japanese "Rei" which means "Universal Life" and "Ki" which means "Energy".  Reiki is not affiliated with any particular religion or religious practice.  It is not massage, nor is it based on belief or suggestion.  It is a subtle and effective form of energywork.
Reiki is the life energy that flows through all living things.  Reiki Practitioners understand that everyone has the ability to connect with their own healing energy and use it to strengthen energy in themselves and help others.
A Reiki session can help ease tension and stress and can help support the body to facilitate an environment for healing on all levels - physical, mental, and emotional.  A session is pleasant and relaxing and is often utilized for one's personal wellness.
This 2-day training, Reiki Level I & II, gives you the ability to immediately begin to share this powerful healing energy with others.  No experience necessary.  Kimberly's Reiki Training Class is enrolling now!  Interested?

Experts say about 75% of overeating is caused by emotional eating.  On top of that, being overweight can be one of the biggest causes of emotional stress in its own right.  Weight loss doesn't have to be stressful.  Stopping Emotional Eating:  The emWave Stress and Weight Management Program may be the only weight loss method that doesn't focus on what you eat, but rather on what you feel.  This program will show you how to manage reactions and clear emotional undercurrents until a new baseline behavior and a better relationship with food and eating is established.  It also facilitates other weight management processes, by helping you add the core values of your heart to your wellness adventures.
