Educational Classes & Opportunities Coming Soon!

Our theme this month is
National Nutrition Month ~
You Are What You Eat (and Drink)!"

Welcome to March!  Our theme this month is certainly true:  You Are What You Eat (and Drink)!  Literally what we eat and drink becomes our body chemistry.  Be sure to check out our video health tip of the month that addresses healthy nutrition!
Betty Greaver is our Practitioner of the Month.  She has become quite an expert in healthy nutrition, completing her certification through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition last year.
There are lots of exciting classes this month - take a look, and consider joining me at IIM on Wednesday, March 25th for "Holistic Eating: How to Eat for Health, Vitality and Energy."
This month, make a commitment to eating healthy.  You'll be glad you did!  Try it for one month and see what you notice in your own health and well being!

Are you a HEALTHCARE PROVIDER? On  April 1st (rescheduled from February's snowy date) we are having our first "Self Care 4 Health Care!" event.   This night is for anyone who works in health care.  We recognize that health care providers are stressed, frustrated, and/or may have some degree of compassion fatigue or burnout.  All of our practitioners here at IIM will be available from 5:30-8:00pm the evening of the 1st to offer stress management therapies to our colleagues.  Give us a call at 502.253.4554 or email us at to find out more and RSVP.

Yamuna Body Rolling Workshop
with Melanie Tinsley
Saturday, March 28th ~ 10:00 - 11:30 AM
This Yamuna Body Rolling workshop is designed to release the impact on the hands, wrists and shoulders.  Today more than ever we have repetitive movements of these muscle chains.  Whether you work with your hands like a surgeon, massage therapist, or hair stylist, or you spend untold amounts of time on the computer, you are slowly causing contractions of these muscles.  This translates up the chain from hands, wrists, arms, shoulders to the neck and head.  By learning how to release this repetitive stress you increase flexibility and alignment and decrease constriction and pain.

with Time Management & Organizational Skills
Facilitated by Patrice Joy Masterson, MA
Saturday, March 21st ~ 1:00-5:00 PM
(4.5 Nursing Contact Hours Available)

This class is intended for those who choose to implement a constructive plan of organization.
Time inefficiency is one of the primary causes of stress.  Effective time management involves editing your schedule, setting boundaries and establishing priorities to stop procrastination and duplication of effort.  Disorganized behavior stems from a scattered mind of too much input and too much effort.  This pattern of behavior in the self-driven individual can lead to health problems.  Have fun with art, sound, color, breath and mindfulness activities.

Betty's Current Focus:  My focus for my career and education is on detoxification for body, mind and spirit.  I have enjoyed teaching meditation for KyOne Health patients in their Healthy Lifestyle Centers and for my own private clients.  As a Breast Health Advocate, much emphasis is placed on detoxification for the body.  As a Health Coach, emphasis is on clean, real food for detoxification.  I continue to do massage, and I am currently a student practitioner of Healing Touch for detoxification of the body.  I am passionate about helping others lead a better, cleaner life, decreasing risks of chronic disease and increasing compassion and peace.
I graduated from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in July of 2013.  I'm enjoying being a health coach, with many of my clients wanting information on gluten-free and food intolerance challenges.  Being a Nutrition Health Coach is an exciting way for me to express my passion for helping people.  Feel free to contact me this month ~ we'll explore your health and nutrition!

I look forward to meeting with you and helping you get on the path
to better health!

Experts say about 75% of overeating is caused by emotional eating.  On top of that, being overweight can be one of the biggest causes of emotional stress in its own right.  Weight loss doesn't have to be stressful.  Stopping Emotional Eating:  The emWave Stress and Weight Management Program may be the only weight loss method that doesn't focus on what you eat, but rather on what you feel.  This program will show you how to manage reactions and clear emotional undercurrents until a new baseline behavior and a better relationship with food and eating is established.  It also facilitates other weight management processes, by helping you add the core values of your heart to your wellness adventures.

Yamuna Body Rolling
with Melanie Tinsley, RN BS,
Certified Yamuna Instructor
The practice of Yamuna  is a great way to begin listening to your body.  It is a stress-free way to start positive dialog between your mind and your body, increasing your body awareness and sustainability.  Using specially designed Yamuna balls you can find relief from pain... and the hope and possibility of healing while lessening the wear and tear on the body and promoting sustainability.
Yamuna Body Rolling is a completely original fitness and therapy practice that focuses on the bone, tendon and muscle connection. With the use of gravity, breath and a specially designed ball, you impact your bone structure. As a complimentary and alternative therapy, Yamuna works with the body in a logical, systematic approach to unwind muscles, subsequently releasing tension on the skeleton and making space in the joints. Whether you want to enhance your current workout or increase your mobility and comfort, Yamuna has a routine for you. Walk taller, step lighter and increase your body awareness. Start just where you are!
