           MID-MAY 2016
Mid-May 2016
We're halfway through May!
Hopefully you had a fabulous Derby, and a loving appreciation of all the Mothers in your life... and are dodging the raindrops during the sunny moments to be outside!
"Movement - it does your body good!" is our theme for the month of May.  This year we are taking a new spin on movement and not just focusing on exercise, but also including moving energy through your body via Amma therapy, Reiki, Massage Therapy, Healing Touch or Jin Shin Jyutsu.

In perfect harmony, our Practitioner of the Month is Angie Megibben, our yoga teacher.  Not only does she help us move energy with yoga, she is also our premier Jin Shin Jyutsu practitioner!  Think about having a session with her with either yoga or Jin Shin Jyutsu.  You'll be so glad you did!

We hope to see you during this wonderful month of May!

~ Love, Kim

Movement - it does your body good!

Health Tip:  Movement! ~ It does your body good!

Don't you feel good when you move your body?  We all know the wonderful benefits of exercise.  This month we want to look at another perspective on moving.  That is making sure energy is moving easily through your body.
Sometimes we are not even aware of how much we are holding onto in our physical bodies.  This makes our bodies stiff and sore.  Stuck energy can block organ function.  Therapies such as Amma, Reiki, massage or healing touch can help move energy in your body.

Kim:  Today we are going to slip in and watch Angie as she finishes her Jin Shin Jyutsu session with Debra...

...So if you need help moving energy in your body with Jin Shin Jyutsu, Amma therapy or Reiki, give us a call.  It will do your body good!

Here's An Additional IIM Health Tip of The Month:
Engage in Energy Rebalancing...

Engage in Energy Rebalancing...
"Energy balancing is a system of realigning and re-attuning the body's electro-magnetic energy field.  Similar to electrical energy that flows through the power lines to your home, the body's energy flows through pathways in and around the body.  When the body's paths are interrupted, health and wellness can be compromised."
 ~ Peter Amato, Inner Harmony

Here are a few Energy Rebalancing opportunities at IIM...

Angie Megibben ~ Jin Shin Jyutsu ~ 502.321.0557 ~ this is a gentle, therapeutic approach to reharmonize the energies in the body.

Kim Evans ~ Amma therapy ~ 502.253.4554 ~ this is an ancient art based in Chinese medicine, with acupressure - deep tissue manipulation - treatment.

Kimberly May ~ Reiki ~ 502.593.9017 ~ this healing-rebalancing technique alleviates stress & promotes relaxation and healing within the body.

Cynthia Bowling ~ AIT ~ 502.553.9843 ~ clear past traumas (lodged within the body, mind and spirit) with this gentle, yet effective therapy.

We hope that we can help you with your commitment to Move the Energy within your body this month...

IIM Practitioner of the Month

Light Works Yoga
specializing in therapeutic yoga classes in an intimate setting

Meet Angie Megibben...

Happy "Move ~ it does your body good" Month! Did you know that it is impossible to separate physical health from mental and spiritual well-being?  Research over the last several decades reveals that mental and spiritual health definitively affects physical health.  Thankfully, our abilities to scientifically validate these findings only reflect what yoga has been teaching us for almost 6,000 years and that is:  work with the breath and move the body joyfully to calm the "monkey mind," and you will find peace in your heart!  Here at Light Works Yoga Studio, it is my goal to help people, through movement and breathing, "re"member their bodies, minds and spirits are connected at the deepest levels.  When each aspect is in balance with the other two, then we can know true well-being and wholeness.  Namaste!

More about Angie:  Angie Megibben is the founder and owner of Light Works Yoga.  Angie was raised in a family of athletes, went on to get her M.Ed., then Yoga Certified through Jimmy Barkan Hot Yoga in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.  Drawing on a lifetime of experience with movement and education, she now teaches Yoga to all ages as a way to improve your life.  Because of her own experience with medical issues, Angie knows how much Yoga can offer the human body, and as a teacher she hopes to show others how to alleviate pain, stress, illness, or anything else to help the Mind, Body, and Spirit.

What classes does Light Works Yoga offer?  We offer classes that include core strengthening and flexibility with our Restorative and Gentle Yoga classes.  We also work in small group or individual sessions for people living with Parkinson's.  In addition, John Malloy offers an All Levels Yoga class, open to everyone.
Private sessions with Angie are also available in the healing art of Jin Shin Jyutsu, a gentle, therapeutic approach to re-harmonize the energies in the body.

           and onto a yoga mat!"

Meet John Malloy:  "As an executive at one of the leading utilities in the nation, I came to yoga many years ago to escape the busyness and noise of this world to seek a more spiritual and grounded life.  Yoga brings together the mind, body, and spirit, thus a more integrative wellness way of life.  Now in my 50's, yoga continues to be a vital part of my life providing universal healing and elimination of discomfort.  In my yogic years, I have found an inner peace that ultimately led me to becoming a yoga instructor.  As an educator by nature, teaching yoga allows me to pass on this stillness of the mind to those seeking a higher and thus better quality of life.  Through yoga we can all strive to be in this world, but not of this world!  I encourage you to step out of your noisy world and onto a yoga mat!  Namaste!"

What is the Healing Touch Spiritual Ministry Program?  T
he Healing Touch Spiritual
Ministry program is an energy based therapeutic approach to health and healing built upon a Christian philosophy of caring.  It integrates prayer, hands-on (energetic) healing and anointing with healing oils.  We offer a program that is multi-level based in the Judeo-Christian scriptures.  Students may apply for a national certification at the completion of all of the coursework.  Designed within the nursing profession, Healing Touch Spiritual Ministry has a spiritual focus that uses touch to promote physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health and healing.  The program is open to  everyone.  Who can benefit in taking a class?  Registered nurses in parish nursing, ministers in parish and pastoral ministries, chaplains and nurses in hospitals, nursing homes and hospices, massage therapists, counselors, and the lay community seeking to explore a healing ministry involving the laying on of hands.  The Institute of Spiritual Healing & Aromatherapy is a co-provider of nursing continuing education with the Healing Touch Program (HTP).  Healing Touch Spiritual Ministry Program Benefits:  CE's for Nurses and Massage Therapists available through the California Board of Registered Nursing.  Become an HTSM Certified Practitioner - Establish a credible healing presence in your community, church or institution.  Case manage clients in an on-going healing ministry - emphasizing prayer, energy healing and anointing.
