FEBRUARY 2018
Love is a Verb ~ Take Action!
Greetings & Notes from Kim Evans ~ February 2018

Welcome to February ~ 2018! Our theme this month is Love is a Verb... Take Action!! Great time to think about increasing your love and light in this world.  It's time to let your light shine!  Don't hide your light under a bushel basket - there's enough darkness in the world right now.  Here are ways you can take action and spread your love:
      *  First, think of ways to love and appreciate YOURSELF!!!!  So often we put ourselves last.  Treat yourself.  Remember the airline rule - you have to put your own oxygen mask on FIRST before you can help another.  Go get that massage you've wanted - or a facial, or do that yoga class.  Even have a piece of dark chocolate!
      *  Smile more - just a simple smile raises your vibration and increases your love inwardly and outwardly.
      *  Compliment your family members or co-workers - A genuine heartfelt compliment not only makes the other feel good, it increases your own gratitude, appreciation and loving energy.  A random act of kindness does this too!

Our Practitioner of the Month is Kimberly May.  She is the epitome of "love in action."  Kimberly has recently become certified in Havening Touch which is an incredible method to help reduce and/or alleviate the impact of stress from traumatic events that have happened in our lives.  Treat yourself to a Havening or HeartMath session with Kimberly this month.  You'll be so glad you did!

So remember - Love is a Verb... Take Action!  Have a great heartfelt month.

~Love, Kim

Carotid Artery-IMT Screening ~  Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at IIM
What is C-IMT?  Carotid-Intima Media Thickness assessment is an easy and painless procedure now available to you.  C-IMT is without risk or side effects and is more predictive than any other screening available.  For decades ultrasound has helped physicians "see" developments and problems inside people's bodies.  Combining ultrasound images with recent computer software advancements, we can measure and analyze critical regions inside our blood vessels like never before.  Measuring the C-IMT allows us to take a literal snapshot of a person's vascular health.  This analysis is sophisticated enough to assess your individual risk.  It can detect the early stages of heart disease, even in teenagers.
Now you can take a proactive approach and be screened for cardiovascular abnormalities quickly, conveniently and inexpensively.  If detected early, Cardiovascular disease can be prevented.
Make your health a priority.  $165 includes screening and a results consult.  FSA/HSA eligible expenses.  Schedule your visit for Wednesday, February 21st!  We still have 15-minute appointments available for the Carotid artery testing...  502.253.4554.

IIM Health Tip of the Month ~ February 2018
Health Tip Notes with Kim Evans...
Embracing wellness in February!

Recently I was plagued with an upper respiratory/bronchial infection.  Boy was I happy to have Viraclear, Viracid, high dose Vitamin D, Vitamin C, Berberine Complex, Sinus Blend and Black Radish/Parsley.  One of my colleagues suggested doing a nasal rinse.  I've tried to use a Neti pot previously but I must admit, I've struggled with this.  It has always felt like I'm gagging and am going to drown when I used a Neti pot.  She suggested getting a Nasaline irrigation system, which includes a large syringe with a soft rubber tip that you insert into your nose.  I found this at Rainbow Blossom.  This was much easier for me than using a Neti pot.  My colleague also suggested opening a Berberine Complex capsule and mixing this into the salt/saline solution to irrigate the nasal passages.  This worked amazingly well.  In fact, I feel this is what finally helped me turn the corner to get rid of the lingering bacteria/virus.  Give us a call if you have any questions about this!

We've asked Kimberly May to tell us a bit about her work with clients as it relates to our theme this month..." Love is a verb ~ take action!"

So, Kimberly, how does the work you do with your clients relate to this month's theme?
I help people learn to get still and quiet so that they can calm down and hear their inner voice... and then take the next best step and experience greater joy, love, and gratitude.

And if someone comes to an appointment with you, what might they expect?
It could depend on why a client is coming in... I offer the Havening Technique, Life Coaching, HeartMath... but in a HeartMath session together, we use the Inner Balance software system to show you that your body is "in the zone."  I will teach you tools to create an Inner Balance and greater peace in your life.

If you would like more peace in your heart, personal coaching, or help with healthy living... join Kimberly May this month and receive inspiration toward your own wellness!

I've Got Your Back ~ February 2018
I've Got Your Back right here at IIM!
As healthcare becomes more and more challenging, many, (including providers) are less satisfied with the current system.  This has resulted in more and more people seeking an integrative approach.  In an effort to meet an increased demand at our office and not compromise our practice standards, I have 3 new nurses helping me.
Betty Greaver, who many of you know from our office, is helping me on Wednesdays.  Betty is an RN and massage therapist who is also certified through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition.
Robin Schmalz is a nurse who brings a wealth of knowledge and experience and is helping me on Thursdays.  She is passionate about integrative medicine and holistic nursing.
Kim Spahn is a nurse practitioner who is a nurse entrepreneur with her own consulting company, and a vision for integrative healthcare that echoes my own.
I am thrilled to have help so that we can expand our services here at IIM... These nurses certainly have my back!
