Furuzamami Beach on Zamami Island, the largest of the Kerama Islands in Okinawa Prefecture, boasts turquoise waters and abundant marine life close to the shore.

Hi ,

Summer is in full swing, as the rainy season comes an end and beaches across the country open for the swimming season. In addition to beaches, lakes and rivers also offer an endless array of summer activities, while heading to one of Japan’s many mountain ranges is another way to escape the heat.

It’s still unclear when we can start to welcome independent travellers but we will keep you updated of any developments on our COVID-19 Health & Safety Information page. In the meantime, we will continue to bring you travel inspiration and updates and look forward to welcoming you to Japan when the time is right.

This month’s newsletter highlights include a ticket giveaway for a night celebrating Okinawan dance and music, a look at a lesser-known trade route that offers a glimpse of Japan from a bygone era and a feature on craft breweries across the country that promote inclusion and sustainability.
