We are Officially a Public 501(c)(3) Non-profit!
This month we have some very exciting news to share with you. After months of careful planning, work, and patience, we just received the determination letter from the Internal Revenue Service accepting Wellness International Missions (d/b/a Journey to Solidarity) as a public 501(c)(3) organization. This means donations to Journey to Solidarity are tax exempt, retroactive to October 2008.  The last weekend in Ghana, proved to be one of the most moving and potentially positive with respect to a future J2S location. The destination is a small town called Kpando, which is about a 4 hour drive north out of the streets of Accra through lush green African bush and rolling hills. The reason we were traveling to Kpando was because a good friend of mine from Iowa, had spent time there volunteering at an orphanage for children born with HIV/AIDSc, alled HardtHaven.
The successes at HardtHaven has us reaching deep into our pockets to find a way to get back soon and help children, such as Wisdom pictured above. Please click here to read the entire, moving account from Kpando and the hope you can give to these children.
